  1. @@kcolley12345 You are a much lower BMI than most of us - and the weight loss will be slower. You lost more than 10% of your weight in the first month (regardless that was all in the first week) - that's a great loss! Are you meeting your Protein and Fluid goals? If so - just stay strong and keep doing what you're doing - the weight will come off. You have to keep in mind though that you are at the weight most of us have as our goal weight - so you're not going to drop weight like someone who has 100+ lbs to lose.
  2. @@lowbmi65 The Sleeve (or Bypass) is only a Tool - it will help you reduce the quantity of foods you can eat, sometimes you may not like the taste of foods you liked before, and you can sometimes get sick from certain foods - but those last 2 aren't something you can count on. Surgery is more mental than it is physical. If you have any eating habits that need to be resolved - I would consider getting some therapy to deal with them - rather than relying on surgery alone. Many have eaten around their sleeve and didn't have long-term success.

    Starting BMI or ending?

@@estar7708 I wouldn't take the chance - stay above a 40 BMI - but don't go above your starting weight.

    Protein Shake Information

@@northstar9148 I wouldn't necessarily go by this article - it was written by a food activist and organic living expert. She's also been criticized for causing controversy to draw people to her blog, website - for financial gain.

Air in the Stomach from C-Pap

@@Lyle S. Tucker Do you have a full facial mask? I only have a nasal mask so I don't think I could possibly swallow air. Have you lost weight on pre-op? Maybe you need an adjustment on your CPAP settings.
  6. @@serickson28 Welcome! I'm having sleeve on 10/18 - and I'm very ready for it to be done!

    Protein question

@@Autumn Fury You'll probably need to clarify with your surgeon. For 2 weeks on my pre-op liquid diet - I'm supposed to drink Protein shakes and Clear liquids. 24 hours before - just clear liquids (no protein shakes). Maybe that's your plan as well.

@@henna2010 Get out and take a walk or do a little shopping! It's very normal (hormones are out of control). If it goes on for much longer - or gets worse - be sure to talk to your Dr. - you may need some short term anti-depressants. Feel better soon!

  21. I eat full fat foods as well (other than milk in my protein shakes). My plan recommends low fat but not fat free. Those are often loaded with sugars, etc to make them somewhat tolerable. I'd rather not eat sour cream again if I had to have fat free.

    Messed up

Contemplating a turkey pureed burger now - can't think of any way it'd be edible. I go to mushys next week. Hmm. I'm wondering - maybe some ground turkey with a tish of thousand island dressing? could be reminiscent of a big mac??
