@ Congrats!!! You are looking extremely handsome - you forgot to mention that! :-)

@@LowBMISleever I'd be thrilled with that loss as a high BMI'er! :-) Congrats! Sounds like everything worked out by the end of the day!

@@Jane1979 Your 16 year old is probably right. I'd quit smoking and keep the coffee the way you want it for now. Stay strong - you can do this!!! You'll be much better off after surgery if you are not smoking.

@@vivi16 It depends on the cause of the acid reflux. Do you have a hiatal hernia that will be repaired at the same time? If so - that's probably what's causing the reflux. I have mild reflux (based on my GI Study) and having the Sleeve. My Dr felt there would be no issues. I'm also on the 18th!! good luck!

@@facebro29 Can you have sugar free popsicles or Jello? Try adding some good sugar free flavors to a shake - like add a spoonful of decaf instant coffee into a chocolate shake or get some sugar free flavoring and add hazelnut or caramel to a shake. It should help a little. Good Luck!

Swan song—goodbye, and thank you.
KristenLe replied to fatgirlsvelte's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
@@fatgirlsvelte Good luck - with your attitude you are sure to go places! It's encouraging to see a young woman research this very serious decision and make the best choice for her! Very admirable! -
@@Shaunie Congrats! That's an incredible loss - and you should be ecstatic! When I was asked what my expectations were - I figured 50lbs in 6 months would be great! I'd be dancing in the streets with 50lbs in half that time!

is this weight loss even real?
KristenLe replied to breuxo's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Do your best to meet your Protein and Fluid goals and you'll be fine. Congrats on your loss. -
Lol...it might be better because you are desperate!

I'm going to call tomorrow and ask, but to my knowledge no. I wasn't provided information for one. I would really like to have someone to talk to about what I eat and what I shouldn't eat and getting on the right track. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App That was all part of my Program. I can't imagine not having that info before surgery.
-
You really need to find a Bariatric Nutritionist - not just a Nutritionist. There is a difference in eating post WLS. I don't think you'll find one much cheaper. Does you Bariatric Program have one you can see?
-
Talk to your PCP about what you can do to lower it. You need to eat healthy, 5-6 small meals, exercise and avoid processed foods. Be sure to take meds as prescribed. You have to stick with a diabetic diet.

Dont know where else to look

Call your surgeon. Any new pain should be looked into. -
Meet surgeon tomorrow-what to expect
KristenLe replied to Melsyboo's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
They'll review your medical history, current problems, medications, etc. They'll probably review eating habits and help to determine if sleeve will be best option. Mine listened to my heart and lungs. He examined my abdomen because I had previous abdominal surgery (not sure if they usually do exam). Good luck! -
October Surgery Buddies
KristenLe replied to limesqueeze23's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Mine is 5 shakes a day but a specific brand (Bariatric Fusion) made with fat free milk. It also says not to go lower than 800 calories a day. I can also have 3 Snacks of broth, sf Popsicles, sf Jello or 1/2 cup watermelon. I start 10/4 so not sure how it will be but expecting the worst. -
High Protein Low Carb/Sugar (like Premier) shakes and clear liquids is your best bet. Lemon water, tea, infused water. Very low sodium. Good luck!

Cancellation because of cheating?!
KristenLe replied to eriirosee's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@@eriirosee There have been at least 3 people in the last few months that had their surgery's postponed due to not following the pre-op diet. One of them was during surgery - they closed her back up. The purpose of the diet is to shrink your liver and make surgery safer - do you really want to risk that?? If you're having trouble with the diet - call your surgeon and ask for advice (they may allow you to eat some protein). -
Follow your surgeons pre-op and post-op instructions! Congrats!

I found a way to get my protein in! Yay!
KristenLe replied to gustavio's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
They try Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App My husband sits there and feels sorry for me b/c after 6 weeks I'm still throwing up. He absolutely hate I had it done. I lost 40lbs in a month from 200lbs. He said I didn't need it but I needed the discipline, I'm a GREAT cook/baker. It worked b/c now I don't even want food b/c I throw up everything . Sent from my KFJWI using the BariatricPal App I hope you've seen your surgeon about this. You should not be vomiting all the time - you will get extremely ill. You need Protein to heal. Your body will start breaking down protein from your muscles. It's extremely dangerous and unhealthy. -
Newbie here! 6 mo P/O and Pregnant!
KristenLe replied to sarahsweetpea31802's topic in Pregnancy with Weight Loss Surgery
@@sarahsweetpea31802 You should call your surgeon and your OB. You could be considered high-risk - but you won't know until you talk to a medical professional and get some guidance. I hope that all goes well. -
@@TanishaP Normally, my surgeon does not use a drain. It depends on your surgeon and your situation.
