    Vent of frustration

@@busybeebug Communicate with each other - calmly explain to him that you are recovering from major surgery and that you will need his help. Let him know that your hormones are all out of whack and you will need his patience and understanding. He may not be doing anything differently - but you're reactions are different. Maybe he's nervous about the future or upset that you don't feel well (and wondering if this is a long term issue). Maybe he's exhausted from working such long hours and isn't used to having to do things at home after work (if he's used to you always doing it). Talk to each other.

@@kris2100 I would be very careful to make sure that the flush wasn't going to effect other blood work done at the time of the pre-op.

    Before Your Surgery Suggestion!

Your NUT sounds like a NUT! ???? I actually didn't get my post-op diet until my 3rd appt with the Nutritionist.

    Before Your Surgery Suggestion!

Eventually - you'll be able to eat similar foods (Protein & veggies) - but you won't eat as much and should skip the starch (Pasta, rice, bread, etc.). I've been thinking a lot about this. For the first 6 weeks while I'm on mush - it will be challenging but I'm hoping I'll be up to cooking for him at times (I enjoy cooking) even if I can't eat the food prepared. Once I'm cleared for regular food - I think it'll much easier. I'm not going to stop cooking or eating dinner with him just because we can't eat the same. I buy him sweets even though I can't eat them. He drinks soda - I don't. He'll have chips with a burger - I'll skip the chips (and post-op the bun).

    Cold feet

No - the odds are significantly higher with surgery or no one would get it and insurance companies wouldn't pay for it.

    Cold feet

Only 5% of people who do it in their own can maintain that loss. Not great odds but maybe you could be one of them. Why haven't you changed your eating habits and exercised before - or if you did - what were the results? I gave up pretending I could do it myself.

    Frustrated big time...

You are tired and feel lousy because you are starving and not getting enough protein. I don't understand why you're doing a liquid diet again. You probably need more food not less. Eat more often.
  13. I would bet it's hormonal and PCOS related. I recommend a pediatric endocrinologist to see if they can find out for sure.

    September Sleevers!

Is it gas pain still? If so - be sure to walk frequently. If the pain is worsening- give your surgeon a call.

    September Sleevers!

@@lulietta2016 Be sure you are taking a PPI and staying hydrated. Sometimes it's stomach acid or dehydration and not true hunger. And YES - therapy was helpful for me (I'm still pre-op but already made significant changes) and feel more prepared for post-op. I went to a psychologist who works in my Bariatric Program. Follow the program and you won't fail. Get some therapy to learn how to deal with emotional eating or head hunger. This article is good. http://www.helpguide.org/articles/diet-weight-loss/emotional-eating.htm Stay strong! As a low BMIer you will probably not lose as fast as some who are heavier so don't get discouraged.

    Gas pain

It's not intestinal gas. As explained above - it's gas used to expand your abdominal cavity to make the surgical area larger and easier to maneuver. The way to get rid of this gas is by moving/walking.

    Good calories?

Chicken, fish, eggs, beans, cheese, nuts, cottage cheese, yogurt, veggies, protein shakes, beef... Look for high protein low carb. I don't think you have had a slow loss but it's not healthy to remain at such low calories (and assuming low protein).

    Disappointed in myself

I would agree that your results don't indicate a fatty liver. You should probably be okay but it's important that you follow the plan moving forward. Remember the goal - stay strong!

Could I be denied if my BMI goes down?

This is very dependent on the insurance plan. I would not assume that you can lose weight and below a qualifying BMI and still get approval. @@patricka76 Your surgeon's insurance coordinator can probably tell you what weight your plan goes by.
