    Being banded tomorrow!

Get your fluids in and walk as much as possible. Don't hesitate to call your Dr if the pain is that intense. Actually - I'd call them and just check to see what they recommend.

    Meal prep! Who's with me?

one of my very favorite salads is leftover grilled chicken breast, baby spinach, feta cheese, dried cherries and walnuts. sometimes I put a tablespoon of a champagne vinaigrette on it, sometimes not. everytime I have it for lunch some coworker will ask me where I got it, and I just say, it's leftovers So easy to throw together and so yummy! That sounds good. One of my favorite salads is baby greens, red onion, gorgonzola cheese, cut up pears and grilled chicken with balsamic dijon vinaigrette dressing.

    Newbie

Your Bariatric Team will go over both and you will all decide what's the best option. It depends on your health (are you diabetic), eating habits (do you only need restriction or malabsorption too), etc. I'm getting the sleeve.

    Surgery Day! 4/20/16

The gas is in your abdominal cavity so the GasX doesn't resolve it very much. Walk, walk, walk and heating pad!
  5. It could be both or either...but you need more fluids too...especially working out or gardening. Have your BP checked ASAP. Try getting protein another way other than shakes (protein water, chicken stock with protein). Hope you feel better!

    Dizziness

@Renkoss. I would check your BP just to be sure. Try adding some broth to your diet - you might need a little sodium. Get chicken stock with protein (I found one with 9gms a serving).

Any one else having surgery today?

Mothers!!! Ugh! That sounds like something my Mom will say. Do you take measurements... I bet you'll notice a difference. Ignore Mom - you'll be fine!

    Issues Post Op

Yes, he is walking and exercising everyday. He is wondering if his blood pressure is low. I don't like him coming close to passing out everyday. Sent from my SM-G900P using the BariatricPal App Is he on blood pressure meds?? That very well could be the issue - the often need adjustment fairly soon after surgery. I would definitely have it checked. Hope he's doing better soon!

    Issues Post Op

Could you try adding more Protein (PB2 or protein powder) into his shakes? Is he taking Vitamins? How long before he can have pureed or soft foods? I would think that he'll feel much better once he can eat.

    Goal Weight looming... too fast?

I think it's unusual but you lost so much pre-op that you were well on your way before surgery. I envy you! :-)

    Starving

It's probably head hunger. But try some GasX or Zantac if allowed. Drink lots!
  12. KristenLe

    So hungry for real food!

It's most likely head hunger. Try chewing ice or eating sugar free pops. Also broth might help curb the cravings. Hang in there!

Any one else having surgery today?

If you are still throwing up...call your Surgeon. If you are getting all of your Water and protein in - you are experiencing the Stall. It's very common. Stay off the scale and drink water, get protein and walk - the scale will eventually catch up.
  14. Go rogue! You need protein and healthy carbs!!!

    Pain?

The pain is mostly from the gas they used to expand abdomen during surgery. Moving around is really the only thing that helps. Maybe some heat from a heating pad too.

    Very frustrated, is this normal?

I haven't had surgery yet but I hear you - I'm going to be sad if I can't tolerate steak. Keep trying different things until you find what works. Maybe some GasX or Pepcid would help.

    Foods and Drinks?

I believe so. Your plan may be different but honestly - if that's the only way for her to get in fluids I would go for it. The last thing y'all need is for her to get dehydrated.

    Starving

    Try broth.

    Very frustrated, is this normal?

That's a lot of weight in less than 2 months! Wow! Anyway - have you tried just eating meat or fish? I would stick to proteins and healthy carbs. Try cheese, hummus, deli meats, ground beef or turkey. I was told not to have nuts that early out. And obviously you know you shouldn't have desserts or pasta. Congrats on your success so far!

  23. I think you can have the juice. It'll be up to your stomach as to whether it'll be happy or not. Pickle juice is good for you. They actually sell pickle juice frozen pops. :-). I plan on getting some for post op.

    Foods and Drinks?

Also - if she can have skim milk at this stage you could try carnation instant breakfast - no sugar added.

    Foods and Drinks?

Have her try drinking the water at a different temp. She can have broth, yogurt, refried beans, decaffeinated tea or coffee, cottage cheese, creamy soup (no lumps), sugar free popsicles, hummus, Apple sauce. And on behalf of your wife - Thank You for supporting and helping!
