    Sleevers with PCOS?

I haven't had it yet - have to do 6 months of a supervised diet for insurance.

    Before photos.....

    I'm avoiding it.
  4. You need to seek immediate medical attention. I don't even know how you went about doing this. I'm scared for you - please get help!
  5. Sodium is needed in your diet and I doubt much else you're having is high sodium (except maybe broth). Have your pickles! :-)

    Sleevers with PCOS?

Have you been to a Gynecologist? It sure sounds like you have PCOS. One thing to note for the future... WLS increases fertility so it's important to have a reliable birth control method. I'm also hoping the weight loss helps eliminate facial hair! :-).
  7. Ask BCBS if weight watchers would count - you could start that right away and then be a little ahead of the game.
  8. No - it has to be medically supervised. You could start with your PCP but be sure you get specifics from insurance as to what is required. Does your Surgeon have a nutritionist? I would assume you could see them before the Dr.
  9. I'm just starting out too - I hate to rush Summer but I really want to get on with this journey!
  10. Every plan is different with the diet plan. My surgeon doesn't require a liquid pre-op diet unless I weighed over 400lbs. From what I've seen - most require one for 10-30 days pre-op. Those are great questions to ask your nutritionist. Keeping a journal is a great idea!
  11. You will most likely see a nutritionist monthly. My nutritionist is part of my Bariatric Team.
  12. Start writing down questions to ask your Nutritionist. Be honest with them and let them help you make the changes you'll need to make. Take advantage of this time you have before surgery and prepare yourself as much as possible.
  13. I tend to feel the same way...after all - if I could do it all pre-op there's no need to have WLS. I don't have any food habits (soda, candy) that I'll need to quit (other than eating too much obviously) but that's why I'm getting surgery to help with that. I am using my time pre-op to fix my mind - that'll give me a better chance at success I believe.
  14. I haven't had my WLS yet but the method of losing on Biggest Loser is unrealistic once you return to life. Very few people can workout 5-6/hours a day with a trainer encouraging them along the way. They have to grocery shop for themselves and plan their own meals after the show. I haven't watched in a few years but I don't think they focused on portion size and healthy eating as much as needed. Unfortunately when you leave the Ranch - Jillian Michaels doesn't come home with you and kick your ass into shape every day! I will incorporate changes into my real life - not be in a weight loss cocoon like they are - only to fail once they get into the real world.

    Help Me!

Your skin will most likely still have alot of elasticity to it at 22 years old! There are workouts that will help once you're a few months post op. Congrats on taking this step at your age - I wish I did!

    After surgery--opinions, please

You might feel okay but that will be tiring and take alot out of you - and you need to rest and take care of yourself. It will probably be uncomfortable in the car that long.

    Help Me!

I think it often depends on your age, amount of weight to lose and exercise but I haven't had WLS yet either. I'm going to play it by ear - if I really need skin removed I'll get plastic surgery at some point. But - the saggy skin is better than fat filled skin that I have now.
  19. At least 64ozs was what I was told. I think you should be okay at that amount.

    Stressful evening...

Sounds like you did well to get through that. I'm sorry that you deal with this in your marriage. I would recommend counseling to talk about stress eating. Here's a good article too. Stay strong and safe! http://www.helpguide.org/articles/diet-weight-loss/emotional-eating.htm
  22. I will..lol..thankx Sent from my SM-N910P using the BariatricPal App I think this would be called relish! Lol.
  23. They have alot of protein waters but usually only 7-8/gms protein so you'd need more. I bought Trumino.
  24. I'm sorry you're going through this. Hope everything turns out okay. Stay strong!
