    separation

This is a major transition and unfortunately often causes a strain on relationships. If there were existing issues - it's even worse. You did not make a mistake - your health and life is more important. Get a lawyer and a counselor! Take care of yourself!

    Finally on the other side.

It is amazing (and a little gross) to see what they removed. You have a great surgeon - excellent results!
  3. I'm not sure when they'll fade but be sure to put sunscreen on them if uncovered or they'll get worse.

    Negative Nancy

If you can't tolerate fluids - how do they expect you to go back to liquids?
  5. #1 - I would think you would have the same NUT through out. I find they often have some different advice/opinions. #2 - it is so you are mindfully eating and taking your time and paying attention to when you are full. I was told the same - however I don't even have a dining room so that's not happening. Just be mindful when eating. #3 - I was given a list of preferred shakes and they were all low calorie - high protein - low carb. I wouldn't go with Boost. My NUT told me not to worry about calories right now and to concentrate on protein and fluids. #4 - I don't have much concrete yet either. I'm assuming I'll get a manual closer to surgery. Ask questions - I found my NUT responsive to questions but didn't give me the info unsolicited.

    Unfriendly friends

Misery loves company... Your friend wants a fat buddy and is afraid of your weight loss changing your relationship. It might but you need to do what's best for you. And I'd much prefer having extra wrinkles and skin than fat (and die sooner) - that sounds like a very childish response.
  8. You can do it! Just think about the benefits of surgery and stay strong!

    How long is surgery?

The surgery time for the sleeve may include pre-op and recovery. The actual surgery alone is probably 1-1/2 hours. I would assume it's a good hour pre-op (getting you ready, asking a million questions, starting an IV, giving any meds needed) and then probably an hour or more in recovery - depending on how quickly you wake up.
  10. I'm only a month in - and your Nutritionist should teach you all of those things. You're not being a dummy - I need to learn all of those things too. That's what they are there for. Write down questions and don't hesitate to ask at your visits. Also - take notes as it gets confusing as to what you were told by your Team with what you read online or what others have said. Every program appears to be different so you need to understand your Program.

    Post Op cravings?!?

Once you start eating fewer carbs - your cravings should diminish some. When you are eating meals high in protein - you will also experience less cravings. I have been doing a high protein low carb diet pre-surgery and have already noticed less cravings. I do still have issues with breaking habits though. Just about every night I feel like I need celery and sour cream dip. I can't really call it a craving and I've been trying to associate an emotion to it but can't. It's just "habit" - an hour after dinner I have to have it. I'm working on it with a psychologist.
  12. They keep a while (I made them fir the week) and you can also freeze them.

You should be fine. Good luck next week!

In agony with left shoulder! Help!

I would check with your surgeon if the pain is still that bad. Hope you feel better soon!

    Pre op liquid diet

If you've stuck to the diet you should be fine. It's more about your liver shrinking than pounds on the scale. Did your Surgeon tell you an amount of weight you needed to lose?

    Ready, set, gooo!

    Good luck!!!

    I'm HUNGRY

The Sleeve surgery removes the "hunger" hormone which may be where you are reading about not being hungry.

Denied due to no disabling condition

Contact the State Medicaid office and notify them of the difficulty you're having. Amerigroup is clearly trying to avoid paying for services they get paid to cover. I would notify Amerigroup that you'll be speaking directly to Medicaid about this issue.
  19. I've been on most of them over the years. Phen-Fen was my favorite - until I had to come off of them and was like a heroin addict having withdrawals. I tried the pill that you leak anal fluid - that was a real joy! . There were a few more over the years. Last year I went to my PCP about Belviq and she said absolutely not - it causes too many dangerous side effects. All through my diet pill years I lost and then found all my weight back and someone else's too - to the point of getting over 300lbs. Although now that @@LipstickLady said she had the sex drive of a 19 year old boy - I may give some Phentermine to my boyfriend. . In all seriousness, diet pills are not successful long term and have to many risks.
