    Feeling like I am regressing

@@tenseintexas Have you talked to your surgeon about this?? This isn't necessarily "normal" at 8 1/2 weeks out. You should be able to eat. Please call your surgeon - maybe you have something going on like a stricture or something.

  5. @@tess170 Swedish Fish are gooey and can easily stick or cause an obstruction. They could catch on a staple and cause a leak. This isn't about throwing up or dumping - it's about causing a complication. Prescribing liquid diets has nothing to do with insurance approval. Why did you have surgery if you're just going to eat what makes you feel good? Swedish fish are not soft foods by the way. They aren't allowed on my plan EVER. It doesn't matter how small you started out or how much weight you've lost - this is about your stomach healing and avoiding complications. You are an adult and can do what you want - I'm just making sure that others don't read your posts and assume this is okay.
  6. @@LIsaRaye81 I"m sure your period has something to do with it. I gained 5 lbs from mine - and lost it right away once it was over. Water is definitely the key - so that should help too. Add lemon and drink decaf tea (iced or hot). Avoid sodium. Good luck!!!

    RNY and Erectile Dysfunction

@@hectorlopez323 Go on over to the Men's Room and you'll probably find the answer - or get more replies. I believe that weight loss can improve ED. The other issue is that often ED is a result of medications you are taking for blood pressure and those can often be stopped after you've lost weight. Here's the Link to the Men's Room forum... http://www.bariatricpal.com/forum/431-the-guys%E2%80%99-room/ Good Luck!

@@shrusara That could definitely be the cause. Dehydration probably more than anything. You may also be low on electrolytes - drink something like Powerade Zero or G2. Try some broth too (for the sodium). If they don't get better - call your surgeon. It could be a reaction to a medication or Vitamin too.

  12. No judgement - but this is dangerous territory. It's a form of an eating disorder - and it starts the digestion process which will cause an increase of stomach acid. You also can take in calories and sugars.
  13. @@amberb1979 Please don't chew and spit out food. This is a form of an eating disorder. It also causes your stomach to start the digestion process and can increase acid production - making you have issues with GERD.
  14. I'm not trying to be judgmental but this is extremely dangerous!!! You could cause serious complications - including life threatening ones! Bring allowed foods or drinks with you if you go anywhere - you really are putting yourself at great risk by eating off plan - especially something like swedish fish. Please be careful.

    Last weigh in

@@hipnthighsfordays I hope that it doesn't impact your approval or surgery. Many insurance plans will not approve if any weight was gained during the supervised diet period. Some surgeons won't operate if you haven't lost weight either. Your shakes may have a lot of sugars as well - and not enough Protein. It's important to check labels. I don't see how you could gain 7 lbs though if that's all you were eating. Hopefully you are wrong on your weight! Good luck.

    I want to get drunk.

You're fine to drink 2 weeks before surgery. A lot of ppl drink the night before surgery lol! I'm not one of them, but I don't think 2 weeks beforehand is any big deal. Sent from my SM-G930T using the BariatricPal App Many of us are on a pre-op diet 2 weeks before surgery - to reduce the size of our livers - it very well could be a big deal for some. Anyone who drinks the night before surgery should re-consider getting surgery in the first place.

Does it make me a horrible wife

@queenoftheamazons Have you told him that you appreciate his help but you are okay. I much prefer to be alone when I'm sick or not feeling well. I'm pre-op so it may be a different story after surgery but I am encouraging my SO to go to work except for surgery day. I will be happy if he does things around the house and takes care of our dogs but I hope to not need much. My Aunt offered to stay in the hospital with me and I was like HELL NO! Lol. Your hormones may be making you less tolerant of his behavior(it is really nice of him!)
