It might be in case of vomiting or diarrhea - the color would appear to be blood and concerning.

3 weeks out, what are you eating?
KristenLe replied to tiffanymarie6997's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Cottage cheese, hummus, soup, yogurt, beans or refried beans, tuna, canned chicken, sweet potato (if allowed), ricotta bake. Be creative and enjoy. -
Have you had problems from the start or just now?

This is not normal and you will end up hospitalized again for dehydration. Did they prescribe any anti-nausea meds? Have you tried a acid reducer?

1st day liquid diet
KristenLe replied to findingnish's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It's not about weight loss - it's about no carbs or fat. I don't think tuna will cause an issue but you should try to stick with your prescribed diet. -
Shocking news: I'm "pre-certified" but not "approved" for insurance
KristenLe replied to Maggie Journey's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm not impressed with my BCBS Customer Service either. Do you have a copy of your Policy / Covered Services? I would call and speak to a Manager. Have them look back at the documentation of previous calls to see what you were original told. This blows. Hope you get it taken care of. -
It could be related with posture and how you now carry your weight. I would suggest physical therapy. Congrats on the weight loss!!!

You might be a little anemic which would not be unusual after WLS.
-
@@TimJM Did you initiate sex or talk to her about it? The reason I ask is that I avoid discussing it with my BF. He may be interested and doesn't think I am - or I am and he isn't (I'm kind of afraid to find out). I have no clue because we don't talk about it. (Working on that issue in therapy too! Lol)

I would not freak out. Your results are just shy of normal. Are you post-op?

Looks like it may be postponed -again -rant

@@Believe16 I'm assuming they've determined it's not bacterial?? I hope it resolves soon so you can move ahead with your surgery. -

It's concerning that they can't get your respiratory problems treated. What is it that they think is the issue? -

I'm going to a therapist in my Bariatric Program. I think it's helping. -

Scared of Pre-op diet
KristenLe replied to 4u2nvyme's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Don't eat anything not on your pre-op diet - it's to shrink your liver - many feel the need to "cheat" but it's really important that you don't. Good luck. -
Now I'm wishing my BF was getting the surgery too! [emoji12]

It's not unusual to not feel full with liquids. Don't worry!

I just bought 3 bathing suit tops at Target on clearance for $14 each. [emoji2]

Fat free, low far, light or regular?
KristenLe replied to FabFemale's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sometimes the fat free (yuck!) versions have added sugar. I tend to go with full fat sour cream and cheeses. Fat free sour cream is nasty. -
Gained 8 lbs in 1 month and I am 17 months postophi

Here's the pouch test diet. Go back to basics! Thankfully you realized your problem early on. -
Good luck!

Anybody else have a huge dog that loves them so much its painful?
KristenLe replied to MIMISAN's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Many dogs will sense that they need to be gentle...except my Mom's dog - my 7 mo pregnant niece is under her in this pic! [emoji33] I would suggest any jumpers be leashed when you first walk in and have someone control them from jumping. You may need to keep them occupied with a toy or bone so they don't get on your lap. -
@@ncw0813 It doesn't sound like you did anything wrong to feel guilty about. Measure your food and stick with protein. You'll feel less hangry with some protein. Stay strong!

Weight Gain 5 weeks post surgery
KristenLe replied to AnnMcD's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I believe this is common. Stay off the scale. Your body starts to think you are in starvation mode. Keep going along following your plan and the scale will move. You'll probably notice a change more in measurements and how your clothes fit. -
Only 5% of morbidly obese people are successful at keeping weight off on their own (without WLS).
