  1. Oh I would watch them - 2 weeks post-op - I wouldn't be messing with your insides jiggling on a roller coaster. Ask your Surgeon but I wouldn't chance it for a long time.

Milk: the Reason I Look Like a Heifer?

"@@Papa Jack" With all due respect, please stop shoving this plant based diet down our throats. I have seen about 5-6 posts from you about this on several different threads. I'm happy for you that this program has worked for you and your wife but spewing nonsense about milk killing us and quoting articles from the Huffington Post as though they are absolute FACT needs to stop. Some have said that the research presented in Forks Over Knives uses the lowest levels of scientific evidence and picked data sets that supported the views presented in the movie while disregarding others. Please post your advertisements for Forks Over Knives on your own thread and stop taking over others. Thank you. ...end Rant.

    Loneliness

@@pinklantern Maybe your friends are picking up on your mood and are afraid to bring up the surgery. Your hormones are all out of whack. I would also encourage therapy. Bariatric Programs should have Post WLS Depression programs just like Post Partum Depression - as it's very common. Hope things look up soon.

    Will loose skin happen ?

Loose skin can be dependent on age, amount of weight to lose, genetics, yo-yo dieting (gaining & losing), etc. I don't believe there's anyway to prevent it at this point. I figure loose skin is better than the alternative and if it's really bad - I'll be getting plastic surgery.
  5. I don't see how asking about diet pop (soda) in any way suggests that she isn't ready for WLS. We can disagree with others - but there's no need to shove your opinions down their throats (and act as though your OPINION is right and others are wrong). As I said before - this isn't a One Size Fits All situation. People looking for info and guidance will be hesitant to ask on this forum since it seems it always turns into some nasty comments and judgement towards someone we know very little about. You must be perfect and have done everything your Drs always told you, right? Because if that's the case - I doubt very much you would have needed WLS in the first place. No one has all the answers and there's no 1 right way to do this.

Having a cold r weeks post op

Fluids are so important right now. Try a protein drink like Isopure or Unjury Broth or add protein to water or crystal light. I would avoid anything "milky". Hope you feel better.

    Any help?!

@@snugelkin Do you get food stamps? If so - there might be a covered protein shake - just pay attention to the sugar/carbs in them.

    In the first month

It's from all the fluids pumped into you and swelling. Don't worry!!!

    PreOp diet symptoms ?[emoji848]

It is probably from being in ketosis - which is the purpose of the pre-op diet. Just make sure you don't get dehydrated.
  11. That's great! So happy it's working out for you! You could apply for care credit for the balance.
  12. Small sips all day. If you're allowed - you can drink milk, broth, etc to count towards your water intake. Someone on another thread just said they have a timer that goes off every 15 mins to remind them to drink.
  13. The food and drink can be your protein.
  14. All I can say is that the stats indicate that only 5% of morbidly obese people who lose weight on their own actually keep it off. The issue is not losing - we've all lost weight over the years but we seem to find it rather quickly (and with a few more pounds along for the ride). I was thinking about WLS a few years back and didn't want anything that "drastic" because I could do it on my own. Well - I can't and will be getting the sleeve in a few months. If it were as easy to "change your lifestyle" and lose weight - we would have done it already. Unfortunately, I can't change without help from the tool of WLS. I have several more health problems than I had when I first starting looking into surgery.

    Rumbly tummy and headache

Do you have an acid reducer to take? That may help. The headache is probably either a reaction to anesthesia or more likely a little dehydration if you're not able to get enough fluids. I would think it'll get better once you're able to drink more. Good luck!

    1 Year Post Op Failure

That doesn't hold true for other liquids. All I was trying to say is that volume and weight measurements are not interchangeable.

They may want to adjust or add to that.

    Regret

Depression symptoms can be exacerbated after WLS. Your hormones are all out of control. I would also suggest calling your Surgeon. You may needs some meds to get you over the hormone dump (or for long term). Counseling would be helpful too.

    1 Year Post Op Failure

Liquid measurements are different than weight measurements. A bottle of water might be 16oz by volume but that doesn't mean it weighs 16ozs.
