    nausea

@@susanh14 I'm sorry you're feeling lousy. A word of caution - I would stay away from Mac & cheese - I wouldn't have any pasta.
  2. @@leebick The restriction helps to reduce how much you eat and the removal of most of the Ghrelin hormone helps so that you're not hungry. You still have to change your eating habits and get head hunger or emotional eating under control yourself. I don't think it's realistic to think you can go a lifetime of drinking only meal replacement shakes for 2 meals...but that's me. I know I've seen a few people back out of surgery for the same reason and a few that regretted it. It's common to have cold feet. Do you have a counselor at your Bariatric Program you could talk it out with? I don't know how sustainable the pre-op diet is long-term.

    Pain....help.....

Call your surgeon and describe the pain. That's the only say to be reassured it's normal.

@@Michilingi That's unusual it covers one but not the other. Maybe considering the reason you can't have bypass they'd reconsider.
  5. Just remember that only 5% of morbidly obese people who lose weight on their own keep it off. If you can do it without surgery - more power to you! I believe many have the same thoughts.

    Pregnancy ?

I think there might be a pregnancy forum under one of the GB forums. Prayers all goes well!

    Question!

Write down your emotions too - this is something I'm also working with a therapist on (so I figure this out before surgery).

    Question!

I am learning during this time. I don't need to lose for approval but some are required to. Talk to your Nutritionist to see what the goal is. The reason for the writing everything down is so your NUT can help you to see what could be changed and that you're learning how to eat healthy. No one is going to be perfect. Honestly, if I could do it on my own I wouldn't need surgery.
  9. Can you add a banana to your protein shake? I would not wait to hear from PA if they don't call you back right away. Low potassium is too dangerous.
  10. How about vitamins?
  11. @@pammieanne Yes - broth counts! :-/

    Stretched too soon?

Sounds like you did good. My niece's college grad party is tomorrow! ????
  13. Did you start out with only 40-50lbs to lose? Do you have no comorbities? Read my post.

    Stretched too soon?

Liquids go through sleeve. You couldn't have stretched it from broth.
  15. Sounds like GERD to me. Try taking Zantac before bed and see if it helps. You may also have a hiatal hernia.

    Stalled :(

    - You need to track your food and Water and know how much you've had daily. You need to meet your protein goals. - What was your prescribed diet? Are you eating things not on it? How many calories are you supposed to have? If you are eating 1000 calories - you should be at least meeting your protein goals. - What carbs are you eating? - remember protein first and if room produce. No Pasta, bread, rice, Cookies, cake, etc. You will only be successful by following the plan. This is your journey - not your Mom's.

    Dizzy and Light headed

You have to or you'll be at the ER getting them by IV. It's really important - it sounds like you're already experiencing dehydration.

    Dizzy and Light headed

@@TamaraRae How are you doing getting all your fluids in? It could be dehydration. I would call your Dr and see what they say. In the meantime, make sure you're drinking enough. Get some G2 or something with electrolytes. Hope you feel better!

Long night in the E.R. - didja know y'all are my peeps?

@@Sharon1964 Hope you're feeling better soon. Did they diagnose you with pleurisy? I've had that before and it's not at all pleasant. So glad it wasn't anything worse.
  20. @@IrishGermanRN I am well aware it's not an easy way out. I also mentioned I was referring to people with no medical complications who needed to lose 40-50lbs only! From your stats you are hoping to lose 70lbs and you have comorbities. Big difference in what I was referring to!

    Weight loss

You will need more Protein, Water and calories if you are exercising a fair amount. I would post this question in a separate thread and you'll get more replies.
  22. Are you on any BP meds? Some times you need adjusting.

    May 9th-13th sleevers

@@Esoler What makes you think you're drinking too many Protein shakes? Are you tracking your protein and Water intake? You've lost 10 lbs in a week - that's incredible! I'd say whatever you're doing - you're doing it properly!
  24. I haven't had WLS yet but it all depends on how often you move/walk. Try a heating pad too.
