    BCBS requirements.

I believe it's better if you did your program through a Dr.
  2. I'd say 25 days out is too soon anyway. I little piece of rice could cause a problem with healing.
  3. I'm not allowed rice. Expands in stomach. You could have the casserole minus the rice. ????

    Protien Diet Issues?

@@_bribri1001 Definitely log your food to discuss with your NUT. Are you low-carb? Be sure to read labels and make sure Fat and Sugars both under 5. Talk to your NUT but my pre-surgery diet includes fruits and veggies - that would help with constipation. Good luck! My NUT also told me not to worry about weight loss right now - that the his is when we learn how to eat post op.
  5. There's absolutely no concern taking PPIs short term. It would be better for her than allowing reflux to continue untreated.
  6. I wouldn't imagine that it's sugar then.

    3 months post op

Prayers that all goes well with your oncology follow up.

    Can't get ahold of NUT

Be careful of the sugar content too.

Try sugar free popsicles for some chewing.

    Chewing Again...

Is it true hunger? It's so important to stick with the plan - eating chips could cause a problem with your healing. We often experience head hunger. Stomach acid could also cause the feelings of hunger. Take Zantac or Nexium. Here's a good article...http://www.helpguide.org/articles/diet-weight-loss/emotional-eating.htm

    Deciding the Band

Have you gone to any of the information seminars at a Bariatric Center? What are your "stats" - how much do you have to lose? It seems less and less surgeons are putting in the band these days.

    Dont know where to start

@@Concettaella I would go to a seminar first and ask about your situation with resected bowel. They may recommend the Gastric Sleeve surgery rather than Bypass. Also determine what your insurance requirements are for approval. You may need a referral from your PCP or not.

    Help!

Here's some ideas... cottage cheese, hummus, ricotta bake (recipe online), refried beans w/cheese (sour cream too), scrambled eggs, strained soups, sugar free pudding (can add protein powder).
  16. @@sgc I believe once you are approved and have a surgery date - you should be all set.

    Tired

Make sure to get all your protein and fluids. If you are on BP meds - they may need adjusting. If you're doing all that - it seems it's a normal time post-op to be exhausted.
  18. Are you getting your fluids in? What are you eating?
  19. @@leebick I'd say you did well considering. Don't be disappointed in yourself!
  20. @@kat27641 You will need more fluids. Try getting some with electrolytes like G2 or Mio drops. Fluids can be broth, flavored water, sugar free popsicles, sugar free jello, etc. Good luck.

@@luvingme You had your pancreas removed? I didn't think that was a possibility without a transplant.
  24. @@Marissela We were told to be careful with baby food. Some have alot of sugars and very little protein.
