  1. @@Foxy_lady It sounds as though you have some relationship issues that need to be addressed. I hope that you can resolve them.

    Purée

How many ounces of food does your plan suggest? I think I was told 2ozs. You should measure everything - once you start to feel full it's usually too late.
  3. @@OutsideMatchInside I don't agree. If I had an allergy to something - I wouldn't expect my boyfriend to stop eating it as well. My sister is a vegetarian - it doesn't mean we don't eat meat in front of her. I'm the one who is morbidly obese - not my boyfriend. I eat healthier (pre-surgery) and he doesn't. I have no problem with this at all - he's certainly not trying to sabotage me (I am the one who usually buys the food he's eating). I need to take responsibility for my own issues and you can't always expect others to eat the same way. Last night for example - my BF ate 1/2 a bag of potato chips while I ate tomatoes and mozzarella. I understand there are people who deliberately sabotage others - but this is not always the case.
  4. Ummm...yes. ????. You had WLS - your boyfriend didn't. If he's doing this to deliberately try to sabotage you - then that's a different story. Have you told him how much it's bothering you?

BMI calculator is a real *******

@@Pillar2butterfly I think the BMI scale is completely unrealistic! They consider 104 lbs to be "healthy weight" for someone my height (5'2"). I would be skin and bones - and I don't consider that healthy or attractive. I know others strive to be that "skinny" - but I'm not one of them.

    Weight is not going down

Well I'd say you're doing pretty well considering you are down 48 lbs in less than 2 months. Anyway - you need to get all of your protein and water in - or not only will your weight loss stall but you will not heal properly. Be sure to check the sugar content on the Greek Whipped Yogurt (I bet it has a fair amount of sugar) and the carbs on the granola. Does the soup have Pasta or rice? How many carbs? Depending on what you're having for dinner - this could be an issue as well. You need protein and if you are still hungry - eat produce. No pasta, bread, rice, etc. 30 grams of protein is definitely too low.

    Weight gain 5 weeks post-op

Forget what the scale says - keep sticking to your plan and the weight will come off. Make sure to increase fluids too.
  12. You don't want to feel full...that means you've eaten too much.

    12 days post op...

You really can hurt something by going off plan. You're still healing and could cause significant complications if you eat something you shouldn't yet.

    Weight gain 5 weeks post-op

It's most likely water weight. Are you getting all your protein and water? How many calories?
  15. @ it's great you're able to drink that much. You won't feel full until you move on to puree/soft foods.
  16. You need to find a way to get fluids in or you'll get dehydrated quickly. Try different temps to see if one is better. sugar free popsicles, SF Jello, broth, flavored Water, tea...

    Surgery today 5/20

@@ChooChi73 Congrats! Try sipping fluids at different temps to see if they're easier. Many people need warm fluids.
  18. @@stephenmarksarro It sounds as though you may be dehydrated - and you'll feel horrible when you are. You've got to get fluids in - try broth, tea, sugar free popsicles, flavored Water, G2, pedialyte, etc. Try different temps of fluids to see if you tolerate it more.

    Cheese Please

cheese is one of my "have to have" foods. I was glad my NUT said that in moderation (as with everything) - cheese is a good option post-op. She recommended finding stronger cheeses that would be more satisfying in smaller portions.

    Hives and itchy skin

Ask them for their late policy! I work in Medical Adminstration and I would be livid if someone was turned away because they were 5 mins late.

    Pouch stretching

You need to follow your plan - don't overeat and you will be fine. Many people don't change their eating habits and just hope that WLS will cure them of their obesity. It doesn't work that way - it's a Tool to help you make life long changes in when, what and how you eat.
  22. What are you eating? 1500 calories may be high in the weight loss phase. How much do you weigh? I would encourage you to schedule an appointment with your Team.

    Pouch is too small

Well - your surgeon sounds like an ass! I'm sorry but fruit has NOTHING to do with why children are obese (or anyone else for that matter). You probably have to stay with Protein shakes at this stage to get all of your protein in. Try making some of your own and maybe you'll be able to tolerate them better (and drink more of them). Why don't you also get some protein Water or protein liquids (not milky) to help get more protein in. I don't think your stomach / sleeve is too small - you'll probably be wishing it was smaller in a few months once the swelling goes down and you're able to eat more.
  24. Most appetite suppressants aren't good for you and can cause surgical complications. If you are already worried about needing an appetite suppressant pre-op then I would encourage you to get counseling during your 5 months pre-surgery. You need to change your relationship with food - not by using an appetite suppressant.
