Carafate ,Protonix ,Reglan (help!)
KristenLe replied to Womanvsmirror's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Sometimes they will prescribe some meds for "in case". Reglan is for nausea (not acid). Carafate will line your stomach and prevent ulcers and protonix is a PPI (for GERD). You may or may not need them. Your pain med will be prescribed before discharge (probably dependent on what you are tolerating). Not everyone receives blood thinners. That will be determined in the hospital as well. -
It is unlikely that you gained 6 lbs of fat by increasing your calories slightly. Talk to your Nutritionist to see what they suggest.

Not losing anymore weight and still get hungry :(
KristenLe replied to GaOrtiz85's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
How much protein are you getting? Do you track your food - maybe you can see a pattern of why you are getting hungry. Is it true hunger or head hunger (this is my head hunger time). -
Exercising one month post op
KristenLe replied to jccanada's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@@jccanada ???? That made me laugh. Good for you for trying! -
@@jenmcd623 She's trying to sabotage you by putting these negative thoughts in your head. Misery loves company. She has no business accusing you of never attempting to diet. Keep your head up and don't let her bring you down! Stay strong and prove her wrong!

Strange Colored Urine?
KristenLe replied to newstacey's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It is most likely dehydration. Some laxatives may cause orange colored urine as well but it's more likely dehydration. Sediments is concerning. Let us know what the Dr says. -
It depends on how much exercise you are doing. Do you have contact with your Nutritionist - they should be able to tell you. Try adding a protein snack and see if it kicks your stall. Definitely get in plenty of fluids.

You may need more calories. 750 seems low. How much protein? What about fluids? Congrats on your amazing success so far!

If your surgeon can't see you - did they say if it was an expected pain. I wouldn't hesitate to go to ER if you are concerned.

@@smiley67 Have you been seen for the nausea? The Dr can prescribe something to help. Try small sips and see if different temps are more tolerable. Stick with liquids for now. Broth, sugar free popsicles, SF jello, tea, protein shakes.

2 MONTHS OUT HARDLY NO WEIGHT LOSS[emoji26]
KristenLe replied to Christina_rny.'s topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
"@ I know you already feel bad enough for eating off plan but you need to realize it's extremely dangerous as well. You could cause significant complications. I would encourage you to go to therapy to help with your food issues. It really helps! Stay strong! -
@@cindyw41 What a bitch!!! Definitely complain! I work in Medical Adminstration and usually the only way we find out there's an issue is when someone complains. We aren't in the exam room to know how patients are being treated. Many places will have patient satisfaction survey too - fill one out!

H.pylori means no sleeve? [emoji45]
KristenLe replied to anjelikaj's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@@anjelikaj H.pylori is treatable and may delay surgery but I don't know why it would prevent you from having it. I would talk to the surgeon and see what "probably" means. Don't hesitate to get a 2nd opinion if you really don't want bypass. -
@@Beme Try drinking things at different temps - you may tolerate warm liquids instead of cold.

Remember - just because you can doesn't mean you should. Yogurt is one of those foods that slide through your sleeve and likely won't make you feel full. -
