I feel devastated..
KristenLe replied to allyrenee's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Unless she lies - which seems to be happening a lot based on some of the threads on here! One person has gone to a different practice to start over because they didn't "pass" her on the initial psych eval. She indicated she now knows how to answer the questions so it won't be an issue. Another said her psychiatrist and psychologist wouldn't do the eval because it was a conflict so she went to someone else - and didn't bother mention she'd been suicidal in the past (not to mention bat shit crazy based on her posts) because "they didn't need to know". I don't really know who they think they're hurting besides themselves. I'm somewhat "normal" and asked for additional therapy/counseling for emotional eating. -

How do you flavor your water?
KristenLe replied to UsernameTaken's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I was just thinking about infusing water with fresh mint and maybe strawberries. My go-to is just unsweetened iced tea though. -

How do you drink 32-60 Oz of liquids?
KristenLe replied to moppet's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You really should aim for 64ozs. Always carry fluids with you. Get a Water bottle. They have apps that will remind you to drink. Set small goals for every hour. Sip, sip, sip. Have decaffeinated tea, flavored water, broth, sugar free popsicles, skim milk, almond milk, non caloric drinks, etc. Try different temps to see if easier. You can do it! ????☕ Sent from my KFFOWI using the BariatricPal App -

@ Thanks. I was prescribed that years ago. It's now part of my birth control med. I didn't know that's what it was used for. I've tried so many different meds over the years. Sent from my KFFOWI using the BariatricPal App -

KristenLe replied to Salinagetssleeved's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I think your weight loss is great but if you increase fluids and change up your exercise - it may kick start it faster. I've seen that work for others. Sent from my KFFOWI using the BariatricPal App -

I would encourage counseling. I'm going and actually pleasantly surprised at how helpful it's been. Your life will change but for the better. You will be able to do much more than sitting in a restaurant or bar. Although - you don't have to give that up either. After a few months (or sooner) - you can still enjoy going out. You'll just need to make smart choices when ordering. I sound a lot like you and I plan on still cooking, going to restaurants and bars. I just won't be eating and drinking the same way. I've already been looking at menus for good meal ideas for after surgery. It's normal to be scared. Is your husband being supportive? Sent from my KFFOWI using the BariatricPal App

making me feel bad about the surgery
KristenLe replied to meridian.jpg's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Do not self sabotage - you've done well - stay strong! I am in therapy for this and I encourage it. Think of the long term goal and reach for it! Who gives a damn how others are losing NATURALLY - I've heard many say that when they're actually on diet pills so they are usually full of s@$t! You're not doing this for them - you're doing it for you! It's never too late to get back on track. Sent from my KFFOWI using the BariatricPal App -
This grumpy, irritable feeling is common and has a lot to do with your hormones. You will feel better but it's very important to get enough Protein, Water and take your Vitamins. And pet those dogs - that's supposed to be therapeutic. ???? Sent from my KFFOWI using the BariatricPal App

Find something to occupy you - read, color, knit. Remember the goal - the preop diet is important to reduce the size of your liver so surgery is safer. Keep something you can have handy at all times. Sent from my KFFOWI using the BariatricPal App
