  1. Although I am still a few months away from surgery I am trying to change my eating habits. I've had challenges over the last few weeks with parties and have done fairly well. This weekend we are headed to Lake Winnipesaukee and typically it's a food fest for 3 days. I am very prepared - brought protein shakes, cucumbers, celery, tomatoes, hummus, cheese, tuna, berries, broccoli salad, and hamburgers. Of course, I also have tortellini salad, muffins and chips for everyone else. Bring it on! ????????????????????

    Food

Are you on clear liquids or full liquids? What does your post-op plan say you can have? Usually you can have water (flavored), decaffeinated tea, broth, sugar free popsicles, sugar free jello. I would avoid orange juice unless told specifically to have it - it has alot of sugars. Try a clear protein drink like Isopure instead of milky. Congrats and good luck!
  3. Impressive!!! I have similar stats and can't wait to look that good!
  4. Both are slider foods so don't worry!

Breaking a stall at 2 yrs out?

Do the 5 day pouch reset. Congrats on your success so far!
  6. @@theantichick Outshine Fruit Bars has a no sugar added version and they are delicious. The only sugar is from real fruit.
  7. Ugh! Miserable surgery!!! I think I have PTSD from my Dr removing the packing. ???? Fluids are obviously the most important right now but you could try making a icy protein shake to see if that helps (even sherbet consistency would be good). Hope you heal fast!
  8. ????. You're going to be sore!

    Actually seeing small results!

    Pretty in both pictures! ????.
  10. What's the rush? This is a life long journey - losing is the first step... maintenance lasts forever. Weight loss surgery is just a tool it's not an easy fix.
  11. I have about 140lbs to lose and I am have the sleeve. I did not want the malabsorption part of Bypass. Good luck on your journey!
  12. Do you have a PCP? You need to have some blood work to see what might be going on. It could be low blood pressure, low blood sugar, anemia, low potassium, etc. It's important you get seen sooner than later. Don't wait for your GI or surgeon appts. Good luck!

    Am i in trouble?

@@GSleeve822 This is very dangerous. You will end up very sick - your body needs protein to heal and function. You need calories. I strongly encourage you to find a Dr and a Psychologist here ASAP. It sounds like you're on the verge or already into a serious eating disorder. Anorexia is just as bad as Obesity. Please get help!
  15. @@chele367 I agree - you need to discuss this with your Suboxone MD. They need to give you a plan for weaning off. They also need to know if you are taking narcotics. I would be very hesitant to take narcotics with a prior history of abuse. I'm actually surprised your surgeon is considering it. There are alternatives. Good luck!!!

    Does anyone dance for exercise?

I don't think that's possible. People jog/run and that's not a problem. Unless you dance way different than I imagine! Lol

    Night time cravings back?

I eat olives or a pickle when craving salt. Also there's a recipe for roasted chick peas that sounds good. I can't eat just a few pretzels or crackers so I'm trying to stay away completely. This week I've been having sugar free popsicles at night.

    Does anyone dance for exercise?

It's a great workout and if you enjoy it - even better! What are you worried about?
  19. @@MiloAndTheDiamonds Best of luck and your English is excellent - better than some who it's their first language! ????

    Memorial Weekend BBQ...what to eat?

I would go for chicken and veggies. Bring a dish you can eat just in case. Have fun!
  21. @@bchas First of all, congrats on taking this first step in getting healthy! A Psych Eval is important and it's likely you will be approved but I agree with ISG - you really will benefit from counseling pre-op and post-op. I strongly encourage you to get all of the tools available to you to start off on this journey right - and be successful! Surgery is for your body - but you also need to work on your mind. I asked for therapy during my Psych Eval and I'm really glad I did - I'm finding it very helpful! Best of luck! I'm 48 years old and wish I had done this when I was still young!

    Night time cravings back?

This is my most difficult time too. Avoid carbs - they will make you crave them more. My therapist told me to try brushing my teeth and once that happens tell myself no more food. Try to stay busy. Maybe you can find a good alternative that would satisfy you. Stay strong!
