  1. I would apply for FMLA and see if it's approved based on current schedule. Our Agency doesn't hold to the 30day notice.

    I haven't told any one!

    8% is generous...more like less than 5%.

    Severe Hunger Pangs

Sounds more like acid. Are you taking anything?

    First consultation

It depends on what is required by your insurance.

    Flying Post Op

Be sure to tell your surgeon. They may want you on blood thinners.

    Work

@@motherboard You can use the extra time to help with meal planning and get used to living post sleeve. I'm taking at least 4 weeks.

    Gas

My niece had the worst smelling gas before she was diagnosed with celiac disease. You may want to determine what food may be causing it. I wouldn't hesitate to see your Dr about it too.

    Work, Work, Work, Work, Work

@@Andrea72 They're probably thinking how good your arse looks! Not being able to see your arse myself - all I can say how beautiful your hair looks!!! I take it you aren't dealing with hair loss!!!

    Medifast 5 & 1

I'm not sure why you would want to. Learn how to eat properly now. Medifast isn't sustainable long term and you should take advantage of the WLS to help you learn healthy eating right away.
  10. That is not enough calories. Am I reading correctly - you only had 46lbs to lose to goal and had Bypass? I would encourage you to make food taste better and make your own protein shakes to increase your calories and protein.

    Spouses... jealousy

@@jccanada Counseling will help you - and maybe you will be able to help him. It's a very sad situation and I'm sorry for both of you. Is he still friends with anyone he served with? Maybe they could help him see that he needs medication and counseling. You both are in my prayers!

    Two week liquid diet

20 extra grams of protein in a low calorie shake would not cause you not to lose. Make sure to drink alot of water and watch sodium and sugars.

They sell a delicious Edamame hummus.

    Spouses... jealousy

@@jccanada I'm sorry. That is a shame. It's so sad to see so many relationships struggling after WLS. I'm sure your husband's PTSD and emotional health are impacting his behavior and insecurities. Why don't you suggest doing something together. Put the electronics down and do something fun.

    Cramping

I would call your surgeon. The blood is worrisome. You may have just irritated your intestines but I wouldn't take the chance - call.

    Week one rant

"@@Alyssa Toner" A bad experience in the hospital is enough to set off a bad recovery. You should notify the Patient Advocates office of the hospital. Your hormones are all out of whack from surgery - so it will get better! 15lbs is awesome! Once the swelling goes down - you'll feel so much better. Get your Protein, fluids and Vitamins in. Stay strong! Oh and grilled PB sandwich - never heard of it but does sound good! You'll be able to have one again someday.

    Every day I'm waffling....

I'm seeing the Psychologist who is part of my Bariatric Program. I requested extra counseling for emotional eating (mindless eating) during my Psych Eval. At the time I thought I had 6 months of a supervised weight loss program and figured I'd take advantage of the time. I've been 3 times (1 hr every 2 weeks) and it's really helping. Not only with my eating habits but in every day life too. I had never been to therapy before.

    Every day I'm waffling....

Have you had counseling? I recommend it. This is a life altering surgery - so it's scary and might help to talk it out with a professional. I am in therapy pre-op and am amazed at the changes I've been able to make already.
  23. I don't understand why some people have such high expectations. 17lbs in 2 weeks is incredible! How much were you expecting to lose?

    Pre-Op Need Motivation Help !

Low carb, high protein. Tons of water! No pasta, bread or rice. Cut out soda or high calorie drinks. You can try and replace a meal or two with a protein shake. Good luck!
