How much pain @@yguess? It could be gallbladder. You are also in the typical time period for the dreaded stall.

    One year surgiversary!

Congrats!!! I want to be you when I grow small! ???? Such a great post!

    I month out... Appetite returns

Try eating more dense proteins. It could definitely be the coffee too.

    Very sickening

Sweet tea can be a problem. The salt in sunflower seeds too. Although I think you're doing fine!
  5. KristenLe

    I'm thirsty

I think...It pushes food thru faster and also will fill you up faster - not allowing for enough food to get protein needed.

    May 24 Surgery Day

@@yescres07 It was good that you pushed to find the cause. One of the reasons it's so important to not rely on others experience and seeking medical attention.

@Isubabe33 losing 69lbs in 9 months is great! How much more do you have to lose? Weight loss can take up to 18-24 months. Are you getting enough protein? How many calories?

Call your Dr about the mouth sores.

48 hours afterwards. Was it a mistake?

@@GinaCampbell Do you have a friend who could help you? You need to drink as much as possible. Try something with electrolytes - that may help with feeling shaky. Maybe even a little diluted juice.

    Pre-op clothes shopping

@@abuckeyeleaf I would wait. You could drop weight rapidly and skip over sizes. No need to waste money now - unless you can get incredible deals.
  14. Even if they don't agree on a new contract - it doesn't mean they'll strike. We often have long negotiations here but the nurses work under the old contract and don't strike.

    CHIA SEEDS

I was told no seeds or nuts. I go on the 15th for my post-op diet instructions and will ask about Chia seeds.

@@HopeandAgony You have done so well - you should be proud of yourself! You don't have "quite a bit more to lose"! You need to not only consider how you think you look but how much better you must feel physically! Counseling is important! Look at your before and after pictures too!

@@MayMarie and @@Christinamo7 Congrats to you both! Impressive and inspirational!
  19. Do you have a specific diet for the day before? If that will impact enjoying the graduation party - then I wouldn't do it. If it's just a matter of cleaning up - get help to do that and have the surgery on the 13th. A strike might not happen even if they don't agree on a contract. But if it does delay surgery - 5 weeks will go by fast!

    Tongue sores and low energy

Are you taking vitamins? Keep sipping - water, flavored water, G2 (might want to water it down), broth, sugar free popsicles, sugar free jello. Get some unflavored protein powder and mix with water or whatever is on your plan right now. You will feel horrible until you can get more fluids at least - you are probably dehydrated. The tongue sores could be thrush. You may want to call your surgeon about that.
  21. @@DaisyGirl10 Be sure to move around - walk and even when sitting rock back & forth. You just had major surgery and the recovery will be difficult. If you were prescribed pain meds - take them. Be sure to drink fluids so you don't get dehydrated. If pain gets too bad - call your surgeon!

    Need encouragement

It's most likely you won't be hungry at all for a while and won't want to eat. You may have to fight head hunger though. In the next few weeks, learn about head hunger /emotional eating and get your mind in a good place for after surgery! I read this book and also go to therapy for emotional eating. https://www.amazon.com/Emotional-First-Aid-Kit-Practical-ebook/dp/B0054RXXS0?ie=UTF8&btkr=1&redirect=true&ref_=dp-kindle-redirect
  23. It is unlikely you will feel "full" on full liquids or even puree. They go through your sleeve quickly. Don't eat based on being "hungry" or "full". True hunger is unlikely at this stage. Get your protein and fluids - don't worry about anything else but following your plan.
