  1. People need to get a clue - not all advice or suggestions are going to be wrapped up in a pretty bow! Not everyone should get a trophy!!!

  2. Trying to go on a clear liquid diet for more than the day before surgery would be a tough requirement and it's easy to see how this could make someone weak. My concern was and is that there is confusion over the clear liquid diet the day before surgery which everyone has to follow and the pre op diet leading up to the day before surgery which can vary. My day before clear liquid diet excluded Protein drinks and emphasized clear liquids like chicken broth and Poweraid Zero. As a "newby" I understand how confusing terminology can be and just wanted to be clear on the distinction between a pre op diet leading up to surgery and the day before diet. Some are on 4 weeks liquid only! Seems crazy to me!

    Extreme Weight Loss

I am not exactly sure why you think I obviously know that I should be eating more. I am eating exactly what I've been instructed. Also at my last appointments my surgeon and GP both agreed that I am doing fine with what I am eating. CaptainI guess I assumed. I apologize. In my non-professional (but educated) opinion - you are not eating enough. This is why you are exhausted and weak and possibly why you are nauseous. If your surgeon and GP have no concerns and you are following the surgeon's diet instructions - then I'm not sure what you were asking or questioning in your post. Good luck to you!

    50 pounds in 2 months

You have to eat - even if you don't feel like it. You will ruin your metabolism - not to mention get sick from malnutrition. Set a timer to remind yourself to eat. Get in all your Protein and Water.

    Extreme Weight Loss

You obviously know that you should be eating more. I would ask for anti-nausea meds ASAP. Call and get the results of your tests. You should be eating real food at this stage. I would also eat more frequently.
  6. @@P7rancher There's no misunderstanding - many have clear liquid diets pre-op - for varying time frames.

    Deciding the Band

I was easily talked out of the Band. 50-60% of band patients need a secondary surgery due to complications (erosion, slippage, etc). I'm going with the sleeve.

    Having a hard time today

Try doing something to take your mind off of food (read, color, knit, etc). Have you read the Emotional First Aid Guide for bariatric surgery? I recommend it. Also - therapy is good. Sent from my KFFOWI using the BariatricPal App

    No Jello?!

Well that's a new one. ???? Sent from my KFFOWI using the BariatricPal App
  21. Find some protein water if they won't allow shakes. Did they tell you only 3 meals? My plan is 5-6 small meals (3 hours in-between).

    No Jello?!

Did they say why? That's kind of ridiculous.
  23. KristenLe

    Pre-op liquid only

"@@sunshine 75" Sugar free popsicles or jello might be a good change.
  24. I'm sorry your dealing with "issues". I would not take Phentermine. You may be losing slowly - but you're losing and this isn't a race. Why risk taking medication?! Now that the dental issues are gone (hopefully) - get back on track with your protein and fluids. Remember - if you eat too little, you won't lose as fast. Stay strong!

Congrats on your initial success and for the birth of your girls! Before considering revision - try doing the pouch reset to see if you can get back to losing. Welcome back!
