  1. My SO and sister have both had surgeries in the last few months and both had to use hibiclens. As my SO said - every where but his junk! I've had multiple surgeries over the last several years and never had to use anything special.

    Things that make me fart.

My niece had the foulest smelling farts before being diagnosed with Celiac's. Omg! We were in Disney and could track her by her farts! Lol

    Struggling

Limit your carbs ... they trigger cravings for more carbs/sweets.

    Shots & alcohol

I would not chance it. You risk bleeding especially at only a month post-op. It also effects people more after WLS and 1 shot may be the equivalent of having 4 shots prior to surgery.

    No energy

Yes - you probably are experiencing low BP. It's very common to need them adjusted soon after WLS.

    Scallops, crab legs and saganaki

I believe soft foods for scallops and crab legs. I have no clue what saganaki is. Lol

    I'm so frustrated!

She coded them as follow ups and one was coded as a problem. None of the notes mentioned weight loss. They mentioned other things. I'm just really hoping after I meet with her Friday she can go back and amend the records. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N920A using the BariatricPal App If she didn't properly document - she needs to amend them. Follow Up or Problem wouldn't necessarily be the code submitted to insurance. There should have been an obesity related diagnosis.

    Period during surgery?

It is not a big deal. They'll give you a pad. It happens often.
  9. @@sleeverv That is good! No protein drinks for 5 weeks is dangerous.

    No energy

If you are taking BP meds, they may need to be adjusted. Are you taking your Vitamins? No energy drinks- too dangerous right now and may actually cause dumping.

    New to the Sleeve Life

@@Fettchick83 Try tea or broth. Try drinking fluids at different temps - you may tolerate one over the other. You need to rest and hydrate or you'll end up back in the hospital. If you can't tolerate drinking after trying the above - call your Dr.

    I'm so frustrated!

@@lovelymilena What did she code and document these visits as? I would insist she amend the records to include the reason you were there and what was discussed about weight loss and nutrition. If necessary - complain to your insurance company!

    Eating

    I'm sorry. Feel better soon!!!
  14. @@sleeverv That doesn't make any sense but she's the Dr. :-(. I hope everything goes well.
  15. Are you sure they don't mean food? This makes absolutely no sense. Do you know anyone else who had surgery this Dr?

    2 days out! Help

Small sips - try different temps (some tolerate warm better than cold or vice versa). Call your surgeon and get anti-nausea meds and be sure to take a PPI. Hang in there. Fluids are the most important right now. Dehydration will end you back in the hospital.

    Very tired

Fluids, protein and vitamins. Your body has been through major surgery and it takes time to recover. If you are on BP meds - they may need to be adjusted. But it's most likely just your body healing. Take advantage of the toddlers naps and take one yourself.
  18. @@reachbree You will do great! Refuse their calls or Skype session. Take care of yourself!

    ABG test rant

@@charley27 They should have stopped trying and gotten someone else to do it. :-(. It's harder to get an artery when you are dehydrated too. Hopefully they won't need to try again.

    Low carb products

I asked this in my Nutrition appointment today. I was advised to avoid all pasta, bread and rice for the reason @@JamieLogical indicated (expands and takes up too much room). In my case - pasta and bread are a slippery slope - and trigger further carb cravings (usually sweets) so I will be avoiding them.

    DENIED!

Sleep Apnea is sleep apnea - mild, moderate or severe so I would assume they will consider that a comorbity. I have mild as well but my "problem list" from my PCP indicates Chronic Obstructive Sleep Apnea" as my diagnosis.
  22. @@pattyoj Try some infused water (mint & cucumber, strawberry & lime). You can add flavors to water all you want - whatever helps to get enough fluids. Dehydration is a scary thing!
  23. @@tbrick512 I recommend calling your insurance company to obtain their requirements for approval. Many BCBS plans require a 6 month medically supervised weight loss program before they will process your request for authorization.

Finally taking my 2004 band out tomorrow!

My surgeon doesn't do them. I can't believe how many still do.
