Not always being in pain (knee, back, ankle, hip) Coming off meds Feeling good physically and mentally Not worrying if I'll fit in a booth or a seat at a venue (concert/sports) Not appearing as though I may die after any activity Wearing clothes that look good Better sex life Etc... 3. This is not necessarily true. I have coverage that has nothing at all to do with obamacare. Sent from my KFFOWI using the BariatricPal App Common misconception... Obamacare {The Affordable Care Act} is the law that regulates healthcare and the insurance industry, it doesn't matter what plan anyone has with who - they are all under the law. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N920A using the BariatricPal App There's a big difference in coverage thru the ACA and private coverage. If you ask someone at HRSA - ACA coverage / Obamacare refers to plans purchased thru the Exchange or obtained thru the Medicaid Expansion. You don't refer to private - employer sponsored plans as Obamacare or ACA. Sent from my KFFOWI using the BariatricPal App

    A drink

Alcohol can cause bleeding so that soon out could be dangerous. You could also get sick and ruin your night. Good idea to wait. Sent from my KFFOWI using the BariatricPal App
  5. Your surgeon decides who needs the preop liver diet. It's not always related to BMI. I have a high BMI and no preop diet. It's not about weight loss - it's to shrink your liver for surgery. You would already be approved by insurance at this point so any loss should not impact approval. Sent from my KFFOWI using the BariatricPal App
  6. There should be lots of options for you to eat on plan! However - pack your willpower because there's even more goodies that aren't on plan! ????. You will probably have to wait right before the cruise to buy clothes because it'll be difficult to predict size. You will want to be careful to stay hydrated! The great thing about cruises is you can do whatever you feel like - so if you need to rest - pull up a lounge chair and take a nap (just be sure to drink plenty of water!). Enjoy! Shaving before surgery

I fell and broke my ankle years ago and had "winter" legs! My Mom wouldn't let me shave them before I went to the ER. It was humiliating! I would ask at preop what they recommend. Sent from my KFFOWI using the BariatricPal App

    what to tell the surgeon?

@@pleezeSleeve I had to do the seminar - had an appointment with surgeon following week. I started at the end of March and will probably wait until late August or September for surgery (had a waiting period for insurance).

    Reflux

Do you have a PPI you're taking? I wouldn't take Tums unless ok'd by surgeon.
  18. @@fits_like_a_sleeve Relax and enjoy the fact you have had no "effects" from surgery! :-) You will not feel restriction with fluids only. If you are "hungry" - make sure you are taking a PPI as sometimes stomach acid can mimic hunger pains. Stay hydrated and be sure to get in your Protein (if that's in your plan). You are one of the lucky ones it seems!!! Congrats!
  19. That doesn't seem like it's too bad. Are you sure that's only 200 calories? Try changing things up a bit - instead of oatmeal maybe have an egg or instead of brown rice or pasta - have 2-4 oz of protein. I'm actually not allowed pasta or rice on my plan. Track an entire day and see how many calories, protein grams, carbs you are getting. Also - make sure you are drinking tons of Water (no-cal drinks). 38lbs in 9 weeks certainly isn't bad - so don't be too hard on yourself!

    Ways to celebrate weight loss?

I am going to buy myself a kick ass ring (diamond, ruby, sapphire - not quite sure yet) when I reach goal. It is either that or a tattoo - maybe even both!
  21. That is not enough calories!!! Your body won't lose consistently regardless but 200 calories will put it in starvation mode and mess up your metabolism. You should try and eat 5-6 small meals with 3 hours in between. Protein first. Supplement with protein shakes if necessary! You have done well with your weight loss but that few calories and I'm sure too few protein is extremely bad for you.
  22. My requirements are complete - insurance approval is next! I don't want to wish the Summer away but I can't wait to be sitting on the loser's bench!

    Regret before surgery

You are not the only one - it's common. Go over the reasons why you are having surgery and what you want to do when you lose weight! Remember only 5% of people who lose weight on their own keep it off! That's a pathetic statistic. Stay strong!
