    Diet progression

@@river My plan is similar to yours - although I won't know my protein goals until discharged after surgery. Not sure what makes them decide protein levels.

    Feeling Too Ill.. Help!?

@@blondie88 Did they discuss removing your gallbladder? If it is your gallbladder - you are at the acute stage and it needs to be removed. You may have also developed pancreatitis. Go to the hospital and don't leave until you get answers. It's dangerous to let this continue. Please let us know how you are doing.
  4. @@Mjohnson4631 We all have that fear of failing. Don't worry - you will lose weight. Many actually gain weight immediately after surgery from the fluids, stress of surgery, and swelling. Just stay with your plan and ignore the scale right now! Congrats on your pre-op loss - you're off to a great start!

    Stuck like Chuck

@@jackiery I was told not to even track calories at this point. Actually 500-600 calories is too low and will cause issues with weight loss and your metabolism.

    Let's talk about Reactive Hypoglycemia

@@Wallflower7522 Do you check your blood sugar when you feel shaky? It wouldn't surprise me if Adderall helped stabilize blood sugar. You may want to also check on your blood pressure and be sure to drink plenty of fluids.

@@ixico Yeah - in this case I would not listen to your surgeon. You need to be getting 60-80 grams of Protein (maybe even more if you are doing an hour of hot yoga). In order to know how much protein, fat, calories, carbs, etc. you are getting - you need to track your food. You also need to be sure to get plenty of fluids - and in the TX heat with doing the hot yoga - I would think that you need more than 70 ozs. Your body may be in starvation mode. Are you vegan or vegetarian - is that why you're on a plant based diet? I would seriously consider getting a 2nd opinion on what plan you should be following - because this one doesn't seem to be working very well (I'd go crazy if I didn't lose for 2 months - at only 4 months out). Good luck and keep us posted!

    Eating a lot of broth

I would drink whatever Protein shake you can tolerate. Protein is too important! My plan gave me a list of suggested shakes and said premier was fine.

@@ixico I had the same ?s as @@ocgirl15 . On a plant based diet - how much protein are you getting? Protein is critical for healing, weight loss and your body and brain need it to function properly.
  12. Please continue to post - especially kick ass before and after pictures showing your great success! ????. Seriously - I know we may have seemed harsh but it was in concern for your health. I agree with @@OKCPirate - you took everything you heard, responded respectfully and didn't take offense (or you didn't seem to). You learned and came out stronger! You have a good sense of humor and that's a must! ????You've got this!!!

    Smells and cravings

@@Lizardlady Head hunger/ cravings are the worst! I'd rather be able to enjoy the smell then those that get nauseous with smelling any food and can barely gag down anything.

    Too soon [emoji51]

It can be dangerous while you are still healing. Eating off plan - especially nuts- can cause significant complications and even be life threatening. If you have pain or don't feel right - call your surgeon right away. You may not have any issues but it's so important to stick to your surgeon's instructions.

    Eating a lot of broth

It's perfectly fine. It's good to get fluids in. Just watch the sodium if you start to retain water. Are you also getting protein?
