  1. I think the skin discoloration is related to PCOS - but don't remember for sure. Hopefully as symptoms of PCOS diminish with weight loss so will the discoloration.
  2. Do you still follow up with your surgeon? I would schedule an appointment with both the nutritionist and Psych (to deal with food/caffeine issues). Are you tracking your food - protein, carbs, calories? What is a typical day eating look like?

    Weight loss

Are you getting enough protein and fluids?
  4. @@reachbree Sounds scary! Are you not on protein shakes yet? Can you drink milk or V8 juice? I would think your blood sugar crashed but it could also be dehydration. After your shower - that could have triggered an episode. I would not worry about low sodium broth. You may actually need some sodium at this point. I'm on puree at day 8 - maybe you could explain what's going on to your Dr and can start earlier. It sounds as though you're starving and that's not good for healing either. Also please be careful driving - if you ever had a fainting spell like that behind the wheel it could be dangerous. Hope you feel better soon.

    May 24 Surgery Day

Are you a month out? Have you talked to your Dr about not being able to eat. You need fluids and protein.

    Well here we go!

VSG ... You have 1/2 of the weight I have and my surgeon recommended sleeve. I would not want to deal with malabsorption with RNY. Sent from my KFFOWI using the BariatricPal App
  10. I don't think so. It might have to be done if your bladder is full during operation. Sent from my KFFOWI using the BariatricPal App
  11. That's not something I want to see. I was awake during my bone graft / leg fracture repair and the sound was enough to freak me out! Sent from my KFFOWI using the BariatricPal App

    1 week post op

You wouldn't get full on liquids. Most people have a lot of swelling that makes it difficult to get enough fluids but you seem like you're doing well. Sent from my KFFOWI using the BariatricPal App

    Roller coaster journey.

    Congrats!!! You look great!!
  22. It will depend on a few things. Your insurance may have requirements for you to do a supervised weight loss program prior to approving surgery. In addition, you usually need a nutritionist visit and Psych Eval. Once met all requirements - they will submit for approval. Then start scheduling pre-op testing. That may include a sleep study, cardiac clearance, GI series, blood work, etc. I have to also attend two support groups. It can take anywhere from 2-9 months usually. If self pay - it might be quicker. Call your insurance to find out the requirements before your appointment. Good luck.
