    Hunger question

I'm preop but my plan says to eat 5-6 times a day. I think it would depend on what you're eating too. Are you eating dense Protein that satisfies for longer? Congrats on your loss! Sent from my KFFOWI using the BariatricPal App
  5. So tonight I went to my first Support Group (need to go to 2 pre-op) and I have to say - I found it to be a waste of time. I was somewhat disappointed because i go to a great Bariatric Program but this was lame. It was run by a nutritionist - there were no clinical people there to answer questions. Some people were too new to the process and didn't seem to have the first clue about anything. Anyway - I wasn't impressed and will only go again because it's required. Does anyone find these helpful and if so - what do they do in your group?
  6. You did better than me! I lost 3 lbs in 3 months. My nutritionist said not to worry. You will be fine. Sent from my KFFOWI using the BariatricPal App

  9. This sounds like a poor program. My surgeon talked to me about my health history, weight loss attempts, eating habits, etc. before deciding together on a surgery. I then met with psych and nutrition- all part of the Team. Sent from my KFFOWI using the BariatricPal App

    Pre op gastritis

I would think that they'd look for a cause and treat if possible before surgery. I doubt they'd operate with acute gastritis. Sent from my KFFOWI using the BariatricPal App

  14. I'm still pre-op but I'm spending the week at Lake Winnipesaukee NH with my BF, parents (our dogs) and other family. It should be interesting! I'm going to be more active (even though I haven't lost weight - I feel like I'm in better shape than last year.). Enjoy!!!

    Approved for Surgery!

@@killerqueen Congrats - it sounds like all is going well!
  16. Yes but be sure to continue to sip - you need to get in all your fluids. Try different temps - room temp, ice cold, warm, etc and see if one is easier. Try broth, sugar free popsicles, flavored water.

    One month out

@@traceygirl I'm still pre-op but at 1 month out - my plan says 2-4ozs of purees every 3 hours. If your eating real food - be sure to chew until it's apple sauce consistency.

    When to tell Boss?

I tried to talk to my boss about fmla today and she said it wasn't covered because it's an elective surgery. Wtf everything I have read says it covered. I'm totally freaking out. I'm going to turn in the papers tomorrow and see what happens. Sent from my KFTHWI using the BariatricPal App It's covered under FMLA. I could have a boob job and request FMLA. They don't have the right to even know the specifics. You're having surgery and your Dr has said you need to be out of work.

    Insurance denied!

What was the reason denied? Can the surgeon do a peer to peer review to see if it gets overturned?
