KristenLe replied to cubano143's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Take Airborne, Vitamin C and Tylenol (you'd have to check to see about cold meds). Feel better soon!!! -
Are you taking pain meds and a PPI? What is wrong?

My Dr requires us to drink protein shakes on day 2 in the hospital. I am glad!

Insurance Approval Jitters
KristenLe replied to doingitmyway's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I haven't called my center yet because I feel kind of guilty bothering here. I've just been calling my insurance lol congratsDon't feel guilty - it's their job. Be your own advocate. I called today and was told I was all set. I wouldn't have known if I didn't call. -
I doubt they'll cancel because of allergies but if it turns into more - they might. Are you able to take Zyrtec? I am also an advocate for Airborne - I take it every day!

I think the comment was misinterpreted. -
Not all meds should be crushed so it's best to check with the pharmacist.

clear liquid diet?
KristenLe replied to Cluelesswinner's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Have you been told this by your Team? What are the specifics of your plan?Actually yes, only, I completed the 12 week classes in May. Currently I'm waiting to meet with my surgeon and hopefully set a date.Every pre-op diet seems to be a little different. I think they'll probably give you your specifics at your appointment. I met with my NUT to review mine and I only have to do clear liquids the day before! ???? -
I'd be dancing in the streets if I lost 31 lbs in a month! Just stay with the plan - you're doing great!

Weight loss before surgery

Try no carb - high protein diet. You may want to do a meal replacement shake at least one meal. That's a good start!! -
Weight loss before surgery

You may have to do a protein shake / liquid diet to lose that much. How long did it take to lose 11 lbs? -
Surgery might not be happening tomorrow:(

Please take the shots - it's too dangerous not to.the prob is the shots are 950dollarsYikes. Can they give you something cheaper? Ask your surgeon - blood clots are not something you can risk. -

That could be the issue. You need more protein and water. Try adding protein powder to broth or non-caloric drinks. Have sugar free popsicles, sugar free jello, infused water, protein water, etc. If you do that - you should start to lose faster. Good luck!
-
You will need to increase your protein and water intake. Focus on eating protein and produce - no pasta, bread, rice, sweets. I was told to eat 5-6 small meals a day - every 3 hours. You also need at least 64ozs of water. I'm sure you are truly hungry.
-
How much protein and water are you getting? It's not unusual to stall but be sure you are sticking to the plan .
-
Make sure to walk alot and just keep sipping!
-
What do you typically eat?

CALLING ALL JULY 2016 SLEEVERS

Amazon. They're like freeze pops but pickle juice! -
Is this a new problem for you? If so - I'd call your surgeon to be sure it's not a sign of anything else (dehydration).

I recommend therapy with a psychologist who specializes in eating disorders and bariatric surgery. Good luck.
