2 week of clear plus protein

@@cdm.avila I hope you received a response to your question. How far out from surgery are you? My plan requires Protein shakes in the hospital. Are things better now?

    Discouraged

@@albare1978 You are in the typical 3 week stall. How much Protein are your getting? Are you getting enough fluids? Just keep to the plan and you will start to lose again.

    Post op complications

You need to be admitted by the sounds of things. You are probably deficient in many Vitamins and nutrients - which can be life threatening! You will not heal if you aren't able to eat / drink and get in nutrients. This is the time to advocate for yourself - get someone to help you - call your family and tell them it is a matter of life or death and you need their help! You can't continue on like this.

    Question about Fruit

@@TipTop in TX Congrats on your weight loss! I am still pre-op so haven't started my eating plan yet. I will find out more details about eating fruit - but was told to plan on 50% Protein / 50% produce for my meals.

    Did anyone see therapist/counselor?

@@mileysfitmommy I saw a psychologist every 2 weeks for about 3 months and found it to be extremely helpful! I'm still pre-op but feel that the tools she gave me will help me to be successful post-op. It certainly couldn't hurt - so try it and see what you get out of it. I would recommend someone who has experience with bariatric surgery though.

    Should I?

@@miss_smiles I'm sure you could find a way to weigh yourself if it came down to it - but leave your scale at home! Have a great time!!!

    Confessions of overeating...

@@becomingmandikaye I think this is why my plan suggests eating 5-6 times a day / 3 hours in between. You could also add Protein in your Fluid intake.
  10. @@ajg91342 Just wondering why they aren't planning to remove your gallbladder? Did you have gallstones at the time of your surgery? I have not heard of the medication - I had to have my gallbladder removed as an emergency several years ago.
  11. @@KaiserKid I think it will be fine - I don't believe BCBS requests records for proof - they just require the surgeon requesting the prior auth to confirm a history of obesity. I would be careful not to go under a 40 BMI if you have no co-morbidities though. Good luck with your journey!

    Plateau

@@lisataketwo How much Protein are you getting? You are right on time for a typical stall. As long as you are getting in all of your protein, Water and Vitamins - you will start to lose again. Stay off the scale for a while - take measurements and you'll see your body changing in ways the scale doesn't show.
  13. I am not a former smoker but I can tell you what my therapist advised to get over food cravings. First of all - write a list of all the great things you want after weight loss (keep it where you can access easily - ie. phone wallpaper). Find distractions - go for a walk, yoga, color, read, clean, paint, etc). Tell yourself (out loud) - NO! (Add an answer to "why bother" - such as "you want to be healthy for your children). Good luck! It is not easy - but think of how good you'll feel!
  14. It's the "I want what I want when I want it" mentality of society these days. They probably went into WLS thinking it was magically going to prevent them from gaining weight regardless of what they ate. They expect the surgery to have magically cured their eating disorders. Then they'll say "my surgeon screwed up - my surgery didn't work"!

Why am doing the sleeve is because they only taking 80%of my stomach and over time it will go back normal Sent from my SM-N900V using the BariatricPal App Your stomach will not go back to normal.
  16. In my packet I was given its labeled full liquids, but I'm aloud to have blended soups, so I assume that means I can have pureed. Starting the 19th I will move to my next stage which is "soft foods"Soft foods is more the pureed stage. Full liquids don't have as many options.

    Need Support

I would strongly encourage therapy - for both of you but especially for you! Your husband sounds like he's being a complete asshole (sorry for being blunt). He's sabotaging you before surgery. What he may not know - eating honey buns and pizza can in fact hurt you! You risk complications during surgery! My advice is - do what's best for you - get counseling! It sure sounds as though he's not committed to your relationship if he's threatening leaving over weight. What's his next threat going to be? Sounds like he's controlling you. Don't let him! Stand up for yourself!

    I'm so scared

Write a list of all the reasons you want this surgery...all the things you want to do when you lose weight or what you want from this journey. I have a long list and wish I had surgery at your age - my list would have been even longer. Prayers!!! Stay strong and positive!
