    Sad

I'm not one to go to group therapy but I did have individual sessions that I actually enjoyed and found useful. I have one more Support Group to attend as a requirement of surgery and not looking forward to it - 1st one was horrible! Sent from my KFFOWI using the BariatricPal App

    Calorie range

I was told not to count calories at this stage. My plan says eat measured portions 5-6 times a day and get 60-80 gms protein.
  4. I'm close but still in pre-op stage.

Is it normal to stall after 2 weeks?

@@Red_lips_and_confidence Your tracking and inspirational boards are great!!!
  6. I think with both issues - there's very little to prevent them. You'll have a better chance if you get enough protein and take your vitamins. I would take Biotin just as an extra step to see if it helps. Loose skin can possibly be helped by doing resistance training but it's more about genetics, age, amount of weight lost, how often you yo-yoed, etc. Good luck with your surgery!

    A Magic Bullet

It bothers me too. Let's stuff our faces and then just "purge" so we don't absorb all the calories (or the vitamins)! The only difference I see with this and bulimia is that it won't rot your teeth.

    Newbie questions

You may be drinking too fast or too much at once.
  9. @@debd80 I would tell her. It's a great time to discuss healthy eating and exercise and explain how you wish you changed your habits before they got bad enough to need surgery. Find great activities to do together. Make fun and healthy recipes! Turn your experience into a lesson. Honesty is always the way to go - especially with a 13 year old. She's old enough and smart enough to know something is going on! Good luck and Congrats on your weight loss! Make it about her helping you and not that she needs to do anything herself!

    Feel like a Junkie

@@proudgrammy Have you tried the tropical flavors? I'm not picky and will take any I can find but those are my favorite.

    Feel like a Junkie

I usually get Popsicle brand there. I just found some at the 4th store - thankfully because Ben & Jerry's was taunting me!

Holy s%&$! I have never seen that before picture! You have done amazing!!! It's no wonder you need time to adjust your mind!

    Cravings

There's alot of great puree options. Google puree recipes for Bariatric Surgery.

    Cravings

It's so strange how different plans are - I start vitamins immediately.
  15. KristenLe

Ugh... why the hell did I do that?

What stage are you on? You can make a pizza-like puree (sauce & cheese melted) when you get to that stage.
  16. @@leag78 I'm sure the extra skin won't bother him as it does you! Sounds like you have a great guy there!

    Cravings

I've seen alot of people crave salad. Be sure you are taking your Vitamins - although I often crave steak sometimes it can be a sign of iron deficiency. Although it's probably that you're damn hungry! Try having something savory like broth. Stay strong!

    Sad

I am pre-op but went to therapy for this type of emotional eating so I can do my best to avoid this happening post-op. It's good you were able to stop at just 3! Please be careful - you are still healing! Try finding a distraction when you get these cravings - walk, read, paint your nails, color, brush your dog (if you have one), etc. Stay strong!

    Diarrhea after first full liquid?

Many have difficulties with creamed soup. You may have had a reaction from the sugar alcohols in the fudge pops too. Take it slow and see how things go.

    Depression

@@charley27 I am pre-op but I believe this is very common. It's often due to hormones. Don't hesitate to speak to your Dr about this - you may benefit from a short-term anti-depressant. I read this book that helped me. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0054RXXS0/ref=dp-kindle-redirect?_encoding=UTF8&btkr=1#navbar Hope you feel better soon! Stay strong!

    Oh the impatience!

@@Deehovey My journey has been slower than I had hoped too. I've taken this time to prepare for post-op living and get my emotional eating issues under control. Take advantage of the time!! Good luck!
  23. These help me to stay focused while waiting for surgery... - Not sweating bullets just by moving (right now people look at me like I'm going to drop dead in front of them!). - Being happy to have my picture taken (I broke down and posted a picture of myself with my great niece last night because I figured - yup - I'm fat - no point hiding that from people). - Better and more sex (hopefully my BF will be "up" for it too) - kayaking, paddle boarding - wearing a pair of tight, worn out, sexy levi's - wearing a sexy dress (slip style) and high heels - not being in constant pain (being able to exercise or be active without hurting something) - riding the jetski with my boyfriend (we recently went on vacation and everyone got a ride except me) - not worrying about fitting in a seat or booth at a restaurant, sports event, concert There's so many more....
  24. You can definitely see a difference! Congrats!
  25. Have they determined why you are passing out? Have you had any testing?
