Sleeved july 12 eating
KristenLe replied to ehedary's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@@ehedary It's too soon to pay attention to the scale. Make sure you are getting your protein and water. How much protein do you get a day? What about water? -
Dizziness & Fatigue (Advice Needed)
KristenLe replied to jessjames's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
@@jessjames Do you take any meds for BP or diabetes? Btw - someone else posted recently about needing to lie down after eating - I don't know if she ever got a response from physician. Good luck. -
Dizziness & Fatigue (Advice Needed)
KristenLe replied to jessjames's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I would definitely increase your water intake especially if you live in a hot climate. 1 liter is only 1/2 of recommended amount. Dehydration may be lowering your blood pressure. It could also be hypoglycemia - speak to your Dr - they may suggest adding some fruit or veggies to your protein. Let us know what they say. -
Mental health clearance issues
KristenLe replied to WitchySar's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
If anything - they'll recommend therapy and clear you once they feel you are stable. Just be honest with them - most want to work with you at getting approved. -
I can't comment on the band issue but I would seriously consider therapy for an eating disorder. It's extremely dangerous to eat off plan this soon out from any WLS. Hope you don't have any problems.

Yes but it's important to make sure that's all this is - if there's a possibility of pregnancy - get tested asap. Otherwise - hormones are all messed up post-op and so are TOMs.

What do the forms ask? Is it that form - or all forms. -

Questions for the surgeon
KristenLe replied to Heatgirl03's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
How long is their process? What pre-op testing do you need? How long will you be out of work? If there are meds you take now - ask if there's a problem taking them post-op. Good luck! -

Waking up after surgery
KristenLe replied to Sherbear2's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I believe it's different. I don't think they give general anesthesia for an EGD or oral surgery. Sent from my KFFOWI using the BariatricPal App -
Mental health clearance issues
KristenLe replied to WitchySar's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@@WitchySar Is your therapy site licensed by a State Mental Health Dept?? I would do 2 things - inform your Member Services at insurance that they refuse to fill out form and see if they can help. I would also find out who licenses the facility and report them for refusing to complete a form you need for surgery. They can say what they want on form but honestly - they really can't refuse to fill it out. Is it because they don't get paid for forms? What is there excuse? Did they make you aware before you became a patient? You have the right to all of your records - maybe the surgeon will be OK reviewing them instead. Sent from my KFFOWI using the BariatricPal App -

Pre-certification submitted?

It's the request for approval from insurance. There may be a few more steps once approved but it's a good thing. Sent from my KFFOWI using the BariatricPal App -

Not all plans allow veggies. Try finding a distraction- walk, color, read, knit, paint your nails, go for a swim (if you're lucky enough to have a pool), call a friend. Good luck! Sent from my KFFOWI using the BariatricPal App

Spouse unable to deal with changes
KristenLe replied to hbrhonda's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
@@hbrhonda WLS would not be advisable for only 40lbs to lose. Maybe you can add some physical activity to your time together - that will benefit you both. You can go out - just both choose healthy options. Change is difficult but not insurmountable. -
Spouse unable to deal with changes
KristenLe replied to hbrhonda's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
@@hbrhonda All I can say is - COMMUNICATE!!! There's no need to stop enjoying going out - you might just need to adjust what you are eating and drinking. Your husband may also be feeling a little insecure. Again - talk to him! Be open and honest and try to get him to tell you what's going on. Hope everything works out well! -
Dressing this new body
KristenLe replied to Daisee68's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
@@Daisee68 Congrats on your new job!!! Why don't you try stores like TJMaxx or Marshall's - they're not intimidating like the smaller stores. Why don't you order a few styles from Limited and I believe you can return them to a store. Old Navy has Tall options online as well. Good luck with your shopping and new job! -
Which Food Did (Or Will) You Miss the Most?
KristenLe replied to Alex Brecher's topic in Food and Nutrition
You can have both. Salmon is a great source of protein and usually is tolerated well once approved for soft foods. [emoji2]
