    Am I reading this right?

Based on that - I'd think you would have coverage. Sent from my KFFOWI using the BariatricPal App

    Popsicles

There shouldn't be a limit if sugar free. My NUT told me to have as many as I want - that it's similar to drinking crystal light. Be sure to get plenty of fluids and Protein. Sent from my KFFOWI using the BariatricPal App

    Dizziness

How much protein are you getting? It could be low blood pressure. Are you on meds - they may need to be adjusted. Try increasing fluids - have some Gatorade (G2) or something with electrolytes. You may need some sodium too! Sent from my KFFOWI using the BariatricPal App

Day 1 of pre-OP liquid diet

I start my liquid diet in 2 weeks, what's the importance of no caffeine? My nutritionist didn't really go into it. Sent from my SM-N920P using the BariatricPal App No caffeine postop because it can cause ulcers and dehydration. I believe they recommend weaning off of it preop so you're not dealing with caffeine withdrawal after surgery. Sent from my KFFOWI using the BariatricPal App

    1 week out

Rice is not allowed on my plan. It is dangerous eating off plan this early out. Rice could easily get stuck in staple and cause major complications. Sent from my KFFOWI using the BariatricPal App

    July 26ers

Try drinking fluids at different temps. Try tea, sugar free popsicles, broth, etc. Do you don't anti-nausea pills? Sent from my KFFOWI using the BariatricPal App
  9. No - unless you have your period they will probably give you a lovely paper pair with a pad.

So I had a bad day...

It is common to stall or fluctuate. Don't stress about the scale! Get in all your protein and fluids (my plan counts Protein shakes as fluids) and the scale will move. Your body needs time to adjust. Congrats on a great start!

    Starting out..

@@Hretan01 Good luck! I should be around the same time (hopefully)! I agree 100% on the septum surgery! I've had 2 nasal surgeries and they are horrible! Post-op visits included!

Day 1 of pre-OP liquid diet

I think it's more important post-op (dehydration) but you can cut down gradually pre-op.

Are you allowed soft foods already? You may not be ready.

So I had a bad day...

This was one of the reasons my surgeon likes his patients to stay out of work 4-6 weeks. It's a full-time job trying to drink and eat post-op! I'm hoping to take 4 weeks but I'm lucky that I have that time to take. Take it easy this weekend!

So I had a bad day...

Go back to full liquids rather than stress about it. Its still early and you are still swollen. Many postop diets don't progress to purees that quickly. Take your time! Stress at work could certainly be adding to it. Hope you get the weekend off! Sent from my KFFOWI using the BariatricPal App

    Alcohol pre op?

In that case - I'd drink moderately (not bet sloshed which I doubt you plan to)! Sent from my KFFOWI using the BariatricPal App
  20. Is there a reason you suspect a leak? It is unlikely you can have a test done and paid for just to ease your mind with no symptoms or problems. If you are following your surgeon's instructions and not going off the diet plan, following up with your surgeon when required and have no symptoms then I would not worry. I have not had surgery yet, just asking after reading different comments. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App Oh - talk to your Dr about your concerns. The rate of leaks is extremely low and you will be monitored closely at your followup appointments. You will also be given a list of symptoms to call sure if you have any! Most importantly - don't go off plan postop. This is why everyone gets upset when someone says they ate steak (popcorn, etc) 2 weeks postop or they ate a foot long sandwich a month out. The first few months are the most critical healing time! Sent from my KFFOWI using the BariatricPal App

    My life changed forever yesterday

You have to move or you risk blood clots. That's how you will get rid of gas too. Stay hydrated and move as much and as often as possible.
  25. I literally go in, get weighed, she asks if I have any questions, and then allows me to leave Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App That's what I'm thinking they'll do at mine because my caseworker said it's pointless to do the 6 months especially if they don't require me to lose any weight but that is what my insurance company is requesting I do. But I do have some questions when I first start. Sent from my SM-N920P using the BariatricPal App I made the best out of them. Get questions answered, help with any eating issues or cravings, learn how to eat post-op.
