  1. At my surgery class we were told, hibiclens or dial gold only. I understand the hibiclens, but as far as the dial gold, it would seem antibacterial soap is antibacterial soap... But who knows.

    Bariatric Vitamins for sale

There is a bariatric buy sell trade on facebook, some people are listing Vitamins, Protein and clothing on there for sale.
  3. Have you seen a dermatologist? The problem may not be related to Iron levels. I struggled with hair loss which I thought was related to low iron and low Vitamin D. I tried 5000 mg of Biotin and rogaine (which causes hair growth everywhere, even faster than it does on your head), and wigs. Finally a scalp biopsy diagnosed the true cause of my hair loss, a hormonal issue that is treatable, and my hair is growing back. In the interim try Nioxin, it may help.

    DENIAL BCBS OF MN

Every insurance company and even plans within companies is different. That being said, your surgeon's office should be able to determine what it takes to get you approved. Also your Surgeon can request a one on one consult with the panel or whoever from our insurance company denied your surgery. Don't take "NO" for an answer. Good luck and keep fighting.

    Approval yay

Congratulations on the next step in your journey.
  6. For those looking for payment plans, check to see if the hospital or practice participates in Clear Balance. Clear Balance pays off your bill and divides what you owe into manageable interest free payments.
  7. It's the insurance provider who set the prices and the individual who chose the plans. That being said, my OOP will be about $2000. Which I gladly pay for a healthier me.

  10. Most practices have seminars or support group meetings you can attend. If not set up a consult with your surgeon. You may get answers to a lot of your questions there.
  11. You have to do what is best for you. Good luck on your journey

    Insurance Approval Jitters

I followed the process as intructed by the patient coordinator in my bariatric group as well and initially was denied by my insurance provider. Come to find out all of my paperwork was not submitted to my insurance. After resubmission I was approved. Now just waiting on a surgery date. My advice is stay on the doctors office. I know they do this all the time, but things go wrong and sometimes things slip through the cracks. Make sure all of the i's are dotted and t's crossed.
  15. I jumped through hoops, getting tests and documentation, met with a dietitian 6 times over 4 months, called Cigna only to find they notified my doctor's office last week I had been denied. Now waiting on them [emoji19]

    Feeling aggravated

Thanks for the support according to the coordinator in my docs office Cigna required 90 days of medically supervised nutritional counseling. I had 5 visits over 4 consecutive months. According to Cigna medical review, I did not meet the medically supervised diet requirements. I feel like I'm getting the run around, while I like my doctor, his office staff sucks, and you can never get them on the phone, they only communicate via email. Scheduling an appointment

    I'm torn..

I choose the sleeve for several reasons; less chance of complications, shorter surgery time, no moving of the intestine; less chance of malabsorption issues. I have a previous hysterectomy with a vertical abdominal scar. My surgeon also stated that scar tissue from my previous surgey may be problematic for bypass, he thought the sleeve may be my best option for those reason, though he left it up to me, I decided on the sleeve..
  20. Has anyone had second thoughts about surgery after experiencing successful weight loss during the nutritional counseling phase. Two and a half months of following my nutritionist recommendations for diet and exercise I am down 18 lbs. Even though I know I have lost only to gain it back, I am having thoughts that I can do this without surgery
  21. Thanks for all the comments and support. I'm going forward as planned.
