    What's up everyone?

Welcome girls. LPT is a great place to get information and find friends who are willing to help out!
  3. I have been reading all the posts about problems with the lap band. I ran across an interesting website. The stats are about 4 years old. Does anyone have any newer. http://www.obesitylapbandsurgery.com/statsub.html I found the following there: <TABLE cellSpacing=0 cellPadding=0 border=0><TBODY><TR><TH vAlign=top noWrap align=left>Number of patients </TH><TD noWrap></TD><TD vAlign=top noWrap>1,500 (78% female) </TD></TR><TR><TD vAlign=top noWrap align=left><HR>Age (yrs) </TD><TD vAlign=top noWrap align=right><HR> </TD><TD vAlign=top noWrap align=left><HR>36 (18 - 65) </TD></TR><TR><TD vAlign=top noWrap align=left><HR>Body weight (kg) </TD><TD vAlign=top noWrap align=right><HR> </TD><TD vAlign=top noWrap align=left><HR>126 (80 - 278) </TD></TR><TR><TH vAlign=top noWrap align=left><HR>% Above ideal body weight</TH><TD vAlign=top noWrap align=right><HR> </TD><TD vAlign=top noWrap align=left><HR>204 (155 - 290) </TD></TR><TR><TD vAlign=top noWrap align=left><HR>Body Mass Index (BMI, kg/m2) </TD><TD vAlign=top noWrap align=right><HR></TD><TD vAlign=top noWrap align=left><HR>46 (35 - 65) </TD></TR><TR><TD vAlign=top noWrap align=left colSpan=3><HR>and it has reasons for removal <TABLE cellSpacing=0 cellPadding=0 border=0><TBODY><TR><TH vAlign=top noWrap align=left rowSpan=2>Early </TH><TD vAlign=top noWrap align=left><HR noShade>gastric perforation (removal of band) </TD><TD vAlign=top noWrap align=left><HR noShade>1 (0.12%) </TD></TR><TR><TD vAlign=top noWrap align=left><HR>stomach slippage (repositioning) </TD><TD vAlign=top noWrap align=left><HR>1 (0.12%) </TD></TR><TR><TH vAlign=top noWrap align=left rowSpan=3><HR>Late </TH><TD vAlign=top noWrap align=left><HR>stomach slippage (5 repositioned, 3 removed) </TD><TD vAlign=top noWrap align=left><HR>17 (2.0%) </TD></TR><TR><TD vAlign=top noWrap align=left><HR>erosion of band (removal) </TD><TD vAlign=top noWrap align=left><HR>4 (0.48%) </TD></TR><TR><TD vAlign=top noWrap align=left><HR>psychological intolerance (removal) </TD><TD vAlign=top noWrap align=left><HR>3 (0.36%) </TD></TR><TR><TH vAlign=top noWrap align=left colSpan=2><HR noShade>Total </TH><TD vAlign=top noWrap align=left><HR noShade>33 (3.9%)</TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE> </TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>
  4. It is not consistant with me either. Last night I couldn't eat but about 3 bites of fish and a couple bites of salad. Today at lunch I ate a thin piece of fish about the size of my hand and a half cup of salad. Sometimes I think it is more open after I drink something warm. It's like getting to know your body all over again, huh?

    Im home and banded!

    Welcome and congrats!
  6. Actually, my band is more "open" around lunch time. I find I cannot eat as much for dinner. I guess we are all different.
  7. I was banded on Nov. 29 and have lost 37 pounds (15 pre-op). I feel great - lots of energy. The only days I was hungry was Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. I think that was because of all the food around. I am getting my first fill on Jan. 16.

    High BMI Before Surgery

My BMI was 57 when I had surgery on Nov. 29th. I lost 15 pounds before the surgery and have lost another 10 pounds since last Tuesday. I had it done laporscopically with no problems (Keeping my fingers crossed).

    November 2005 Check-in

I am on Day 4 and seem to be doing great. I have not been sick and am not getting hungry with the liquid diet. I haven't weighed yet so I don't know if I am down any weight. I hope everyone is doing well and I hope to hear from you. Will someone tell me how to add a ticker? Teresa
  10. I was banded on Nov. 29 and seem to be doing great! No pain, but I can really tell that I am getting full with just a little Jello or broth. I was told to get chewy vitamins and I bought gummy vitamins because I thought they would be consistency of Jello. Now I am afraid they might be too thick. Anyone tried those?
