  2. So, I've proven myself right! I've been eating nuts since I was cleared to do so....but knew it was a slippery slope for me because I love love love nuts. For about 5 weeks eating nuts I averaged about 1.7 pounds lost per week......but I knew I eating too many nuts! This last week I stopped with the nuts and lost 3.2 pounds.....This is good information to have! I need to work on controlling my portion sizes because I don't want to not ever be able to have them.....but I think for now I'll keep myself in "timeout" from nuts for a while....3.2 pounds in a week feels better than nuts taste!!!

@Caribear I know I've seen those.....I think it's best for me to avoid them for a while.....I want to track my weight loss for a few more weeks and see if it continues at the higher rate or if this week was just a fluke.

I stopped eating them for the longest time for the very same reason. Now about 5 months later I have gone back to eating them but I portion them out and so far, I have been good about sticking to that portion when I do have them which is not every day. If in the future I slip, they simply won't get to stay a part of my food plan any longer.

@Djmohr you sound exactly like me.....I was weighing and measuring but it was still hard for me to stick to just one serving, and I was having them everyday!......so time out for now! Later I'll try again, and if I have the same problem gone they will be......The one thing I do have control over is them coming into the house...hahaha

    Alcohol.

I might throw something out there about Doritos and cheese dip or something, just to make my weekend more entertaining! Actually, I'm going to a beer fest tomorrow...gasp. Mostly I'm hoping for one of those little taster glasses...that's about my speed with beer right now I don't drink or smoke...(I know how boring)....But how about some chocolate?...or home baked bread?? haha
  4. I see it as funny and the tweet actually makes me like him more........I wouldn't go by anything you hear from others who have given him bad reviews. I would meet him and judge for myself. Just remember that folks who have a bad experience are much more likely to write a review...........If everything went well and as planned why even search out where to provide a review?....So wait and form your own opinion.

hahaha sometimes I wonder if a post is really a question that someone is looking for a real answer, or if they are just posted for our entertainment....Posts about drinking, smoking, and eating off plan always go downhill pretty quickly.

What are your best tips for success?

Hi congrats on your upcoming surgery. You've gotten some great advice so far. Water can't stretch your sleeve as it passes right through.....regarding your other questions about meal replacements. The most important thing to remember is to follow the plan that is given to you by your bariatric team.....Most likely that won't include meal replacements long term.....and wouldn't teach you much about how to eat in the future. So study your plan and know what you're going to be able to eat and when......that eating plan is not a diet it is a prescription.....it's extremely important that you follow it to the T. I wish you the best of luck!!!

    Professional Wardrobe

I totally agree with the comfort of Clarks! Also, Sketchers has some really comfortable slip-ons that are like sneakers but don't really look like sneakers.....They are very very comfy! I'm so excited for you! I sew! Too bad I'm not close to you. I can't wait to hear all about how it all goes.

    Sick after surgery?

Why not give your surgeon's office or PCP's office a call and ask for suggestions on what you should take? There's no need to suffer.
  9. YaaaaaHoooo! I’m down 60.6 pounds as of this morning, with 51.4 more to go! Surgery was 5/16/16. Now I’m ready to get out of the 190’s……Hopefully I’ll see a 18X sometime over the weekend.

    How long does this last?

For the gas pains ...walk walk walk. Also deep breathing helped me. The more you walk the faster you will feel better. Do lay down unless you're sleeping. The difficulty you're having drinking will get better but you must ensure you're getting in your Fluid no matter what....try warm broth.....try ice chips, sugar free popsicles...sugar free Jello...warm tea.....room temp Water...,ice cold water....you just have to experiment to find what works best. For me each day got better and by day 6 I was much much better. Hang in there!
  13. excessive weight loss causes the temporary hair loss. So it will depend on your weight loss after surgery. Like the other poster said low Protein can cause it as well.....but many weight loss patients get plenty of protein and still lose hair....it has more to do with the hormone changes that your body goes through while losing weight.

    Cheese itz?

I agree @@chycky It looks like only one poster got crabby when they really shouldn't have.....most all other responses seem to agree that Cheese-its are not the best choice.......but maybe I've missed something???
  15. It's a marvelous day! Be a positive influence in someone's life today. You'll both win!

  16. kmorri

    Cheese itz?

haha you're right! I had to go back and look....thanks to you now every zero mg item I see I'll see OMG! haha
  17. kmorri

    Cheese itz?

I was a Cheese-it addict.....maybe that's a strong word, but still. For me to really really enjoy them they had to be kept in the refrigerator....and when I ate them I had to put three in my mouth at once.....they were not near as good if you only put one or two at a time in your mouth...hahaha Although I like how a lot of folks think that it's best to not totally eliminate things from your diet....I know myself well enough to know that Cheese-its are, and will always be a big no no (for me). I am still in the weight loss mode.....I"m pretty strict with the things I eat now. Everything I eat now has a nutritional purpose.........Just like @@Dub said.....After investing in this surgery the last thing I want to do now is eat Cheese-its!... Even though my surgery was covered by my insurance I still look at it as a huge investment on my part....geeeezzz I had most of my stomach removed!

    Scar cream

My surgery was 5/16/16 and I can't even find any of my incisions anymore. They all healed wonderfully and I never put anything on them.

    Cheese itz?

Just so y'all know....I've just put some cheese in the oven!

    Cheese itz?

All this talk about cheese-itz is making my hungry!! haha Cheese-itz were one of my favorites back in the day when I didn't care what I ate.......man! just writing about them make me want some... That in itself tells me I better stay far far away from those evil things! haha On the other hand, I've tried the baked cheddar cheese that you do yourself just by putting cheese on parchment paper and baking it in the oven and it's awesome....and almost too close to the taste of cheese-itz to be safe for me......Now let's talk about something else so I can stop craving them!

    Dealing with Rejection

This exactly!!! It is not your fault!!! This is all due to him being a sorry excuse for a man!! You are way way too good for him!

    Dealing with Rejection

I'm so sorry you've been hurt like this. You're right, no one deserves to be treated this way. In my opinion what you need now is healing time. don't worry about dating or men....just focus on you and your child, and your health. Time will heal your heart......and you'll know when you're open to new relationships....but don't rush it. The good thing is now you know what kind of man you DON'T want. For now focus on you. Regarding your bedroom.....I don't know what your finances are like, but if I were you I'd go buy a new bed......and redecorate your bedroom so it's all new and all about you.....throw everything out that has those bad memories and make everything fresh and new.......you know how when we're married we try not to make our bedrooms too girlie.....now make your bedroom all about you, as girlie as you want it!!! After my divorce I painted my bedroom pink...haha I know the hurt is heavy now but know it will get a little easier everyday......just take one day at a time. Take Care, Kathy
  25. @@solea78 It's probably a good idea to make an appointment with your NUT. I'm sure they will be able to look at your current eating pattern and help you put a good plan together......that would be my first step. Good luck to you.
