    Just being nosey

@@Dub ....I've seen your pictures before, and every time I do it just makes me all tingly.... hehehehe.....Don't tell my husband! You really look great and have the personality to go with it.
  2. No struggles here! Filet mignon for dinner tonight....My surgery was about 3.5 months ago and I really haven't struggled with food since.......I'm sure my time will come, but so far so good!
  3. Wow!! You're right you look much younger! You look great! Congrats!!!

    Nauseous

Guys you really shouldn't be nauseous almost a week after surgery especially while taking medication.....make sure to call your doctors and let them know how you're feeling. There is no reason to continue to suffer when perhaps there is something that can be done.......Being nauseous is the worst feeling ever!!! @@dlp712 @@Kaylaseibert Please keep us informed on how you're doing. I hope you both feel better very soon!!

    4 days postop

glad you are doing well.......your last sentence worried me a bit. You shouldn't have to "hope" you're getting enough Fluid. You should know. Are you keeping track of your fluid intake? You should be. How much are you drinking?
  6. I have no idea how to help you but if it's too bad you should contact your doctor.
  7. Yes to all your questions,,,,,,,,,,,,,and I second what @@Dub said.
  8. You should be in the stage that your surgeon prescribed. All plans are different and you want to make sure you to follow the plan that was given to you. However, 10 days sounds pretty long for Clear liquids. Maybe give them a call and make sure you can't move to full liquids. Good luck to you.

    Question from a beginner jogger

Thanks so much for the advice! But now I think I may have runners knee.....and it makes me soooo mad! I'm having pain on the inside of both knees. I went yesterday to a special foot orthotic store and got some really good inserts for my shoes with good arch support....but I'm not sure if I should keep jogging or give my knees a rest until the pain goes away. I feel like if I stop now I'll just have to start all over. The pain is not bad just sort of a dull ache..I'm wondering if some kind of knee support would help...dang it!!! I was doing good too!!
  11. Hi everyone, I thought this forum would be the best place for me to ask this question. I've been trying to jog and need some advice regarding breathing. I currently walk a lot....in fact I average about 10 miles a day....I've recently been trying to add a little jogging to my routine and can only jog for a very very short distance before I'm out of breath.....I will be 57 years old in December and I've never jogged in my life but would like to start, but I don't really know what to do to work on my breathing......is there something I can do that will help? What I've been doing is each day I just try to jog a little bit further but so far I'm huffing and puffing at about the same distance.....I'm not seeing any progress yet.....will it just take more time? Thanks in advance for any advice!
  12. After you go though the last stage you're eating normal foods.....but sticking to an eating plan that helps you to continue to lose weight...for me that's low carb......but I can eat anything. I've not found any food that I can't tolerate.....My plan progressed through the stages quicker than yours, rather than a specific time frame for each it said "progress as tolerated."..... As far as what to eat in the soft stage, like @ said you should have a plan from your NUT.....but think of it as if you are feeding a toddler....anything soft and easily chewed should be fine.....just take very small bites and chew very very well....you want the food to be like a baby food consistency before you swallow it. I hope this helps. Good luck to you!!!

    Just being nosey

I'm still moving through this journey but how quickly the changes happen is amazing! I just had my surgery 3 and half months ago and I've already lost 70 pounds from my highest weight.....changes include a lot of the same things mentioned by @LisaMergs.....and in addition I'm walking on average about 10 miles a day now and am actually letting my granddaughter teach me to jog....I'll be 57 years old in December and have never jogged in my life.....I honestly can't believe that I'm able to do it!!!

    Question from a beginner jogger

Thank you so much! That's what I was looking for just confirmation that what I was experiencing was normal....
  15. Amazing transformation! Your hard work and dedication has really paid off. And what is it about this journey that makes us decide on short sassy hair to go with the new us? (chopped mine off last weekend) With me it was the fact that is was falling out and looked like it belonged on a broom stick...LOL much better now that's it's short. Yours looks great!

    Question from a beginner jogger

Thanks guys, I've looked at the couch to 5k plan and it's basically what I'm trying to do.....but I guess my question is more about is it normal that what keeps me from jogging further is I give out of breath, rather than my legs being tired?.....I feel like I could go further if I could just breathe better.....I'm going to keep trying...I'm doing 4 mile walks with my granddaughter who is great at cheering me on when we do the short jogging parts....so maybe the breathing will just get a little easier as I keep trying???
  17. I did a post with some "before and during" photos. Here's a link to the post. http://www.bariatricpal.com/topic/376304-before-and-during-photos/

    Nauseous

They did. It is keeping my from vomiting but I still feel sick. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G890A using the BariatricPal App Call them anyway and perhaps they can give you something else. Hang in there it'll get better!

    Nauseous

Call your doctor. They should have given you a prescription for nausea.
  22. Thank you so much for this. I am pre-surgery and I always say I am fat because I am hungry all the time. When I make good choices I am still hungry. I eat a healthy dinner and an hour later I am back in the kitchen because I am hungry. I had a super skinny person tell me once that they reason I am always hungry is because all I eat is junk, my body is craving real food and lacking Vitamins, etc. Nope, I do eat good stuff, I just eat too much of (for instance, LOVE nuts, eat way too many of them) and I also eat things like carbs because they fill me up. Love your comment, can't wait for my approval!!! This was me exactly!! I ate pretty healthy but I ate way way too much!!....now I ate some unhealthy stuff too but for the most part it was just a volume problem for me............Well this surgery has certainly fix that!! Best decision ever!! Good luck to you!!
  23. I did every diet under the sun....just like most people here. This tool makes it completely different. I'm not ever hungry and sometimes need to remind myself to eat. Most of the time my eyes are still bigger than my stomach when I fix my plate as I'm very rarely able to finish it......so not only do I love my sleeve, my little dog loves it too!!! I agree with what everyone else has said, it's really not about willpower.....although there is a lot of adjustments you have to do. You really have to educate yourself of the right foods to eat so you're not lost wondering what you should eat. That to me is the good part about the length of time it takes to get qualified for surgery, it gives you time to learn. Good luck to you!!
