mild sleep apnea - I'm pissed

Same thing happened to me. I've never had a problem sleeping. They forced me to get the machine and bring it the day of surgery as well. I never used it and neither did they. I took that sh*t back as soon as I got home from the hospital. Waste of money. I almost think the company's give each other kick backs or something. Frustrating! 2. I'm more of an observer in everyday life. Same goes for within this community. I'll read posts & comments & chime in when I feel it's beneficial or feel moved by something. Today, I am randomly overwhelmed by thankfulness & wanted to share. I am two & a half months out and down 56 pounds in total since starting the process. 56 f-ing pounds and I'm not even close to being finished. I am so lucky to have been given this gift. You should feel so lucky too. I read a lot of negativity here. I understand this is a taxing thing both physically and emotionally but you have to be grateful! Look at where you started. Don't get down on yourself for not losing "fast enough" or having a cheat meal. Don't compare your experience to anyone else's! The power of positivity is real, y'all!! You've got this. You get to have everything you've ever wanted! How exciting is that? Chins up & walk tall, kids. You freakin' rule.

  4. This is YOUR journey. If telling your momma is only going to add stress to the situation, then you're already at a disadvantage. This process will mess you up inside and out at first. You need people in your corner who get it, who won't judge you, and who are supportive of the end goal. It will only create resentment if those are the things you need, and she can't provide them. I'm sure she's an awesome lady! But this is yours. You are the one that has to live this new life. Share wisely. You'll get to a point where going out with the family doesn't bother you. You'll get to a point where you don't feel the need to explain why you're eating a certain way or why you can't make it at "this time" because you have to go to the gym. YOU ARE THE PRIORITY. And you won't care one bit because you have goals & you're meeting them. Good luck! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  7. I'm Taylor. I'm new here. I'll quickly hit the highlights: - 24 - 5'11 - Kansas City born & raised (Go Royals!) - Dog mom to Cori & Mason - Older sister to Drew & Kadin - Boy band enthusiast (Not even a little sorry about it) - Wanderlust - Sleeved 3/3/16 @ KC Bariatric with Dr. Stan Hoehn - HW: 324, SW: 309, CW: 285 food addiction is a really real thing, ya'll & I am certainly an addict. There was no other option for me but to have weight loss surgery. I am a strong woman in many aspects of my life, but not this one. Food was my comfort, my relationships, my worth. I knew I needed my options taken away in order to find success. That was a hard pill to swallow. During my pre-op phase, I honestly felt like I needed to be committed. I thought everyday about giving up and throwing it all away for a cheeseburger. WTF?! That's when I knew I was making the right decision for me. Surgery was a breeze. I was terrified but it could not have been a better experience. Very little gas pain, no nausea, I tolerated liquids fine, & incision pain was minimal. I was super lucky. I was totally "that girl" that watched YouTube video after video about WLS horror stories. I'm now almost 1 month out and am down 24 pounds from day of surgery & 39 pounds from my highest weight. Within the last 2 weeks, the weight loss has slowed dramatically but I've read that's normal once you start actually eating again. I feel tired often but am excited for my future. I hope to make connections with fellow "sleevers" and to get/give advice & encouragement when needed. Yay for community! =)

    Time off from work?

I had surgery on a Thursday and went back Tuesday. Everyone tolerates this differently. I have friends that were off work for 2 weeks. Also depends on what you do. Just gage how you're feeling. Do what's best for you! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
