I know this may sound kinda weird, but here it goes. Do I need to remove my navel ring for surgery? My friend asked the same thing also. So I guess it's a valid question.

I am 4 months out and have been loosing weight slowly but surely. I have this squooshy noise/feeling when I press on my port area. Like there's Fluid in there. It does not hurt, although, it has been a little sore, especially after workouts. Has anyone else had this issue. URL=http://www.dreamdollz.com/][/url]

I am in the same boat. I had 3cc in a 10cc band, and I can eat anything. All the "trouble foods" I can eat w/out any problems. I am also keeping portions small, on will power alone. I called the office and they said they will get me in earlier than my scheduled appt. for the next fill. Call your DR and let them know what's going on. Seems by reading the threads, that it may take a few fills, and that everyone is different. GOOD LUCK. http://tickers.TickerFactory.com/ezt/t/whS9Vvm/weight.png"></A< a>>

I also have wicked left shoulder pain. Banded 2 weeks ago, pain was the first thing I mentioned when coming from the OR. Found out on my follow up appointment, that I came out of anaethesia fighting. I had to be restrained and still have bruises on my arms. (Felt really embarassed-not a violent person). May have pulled my shoulder in the process.

Can GAS cause a Pinched Nerve?
fivestar replied to leknigh's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was banded on 8/7/08 and am still having problems with me left shoulder. The gas is pretty much gone. My boyfriend said that that was the first thing I complained about, after coming from OR. I also have some nice bruises on my forearms(maybe I struggled 'cause my arms weren't positioned right). I think that maybe you weren't positioned properly on the OR table, and should seek medically advice, especially with the numbness. Good luck! -
I will be banded on August 7th. I have been on my liquid diet since last Thursday. Not as bad as I thought it was going to be. I went to the hospital on Monday, and had blood work and also an EKG. I am SOOOO Ready to get this new life started. Good luck to all the August All Stars, and others making that change.

Belly button ring in or out?
fivestar replied to fivestar's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks for the tips guys. I picked up the palstic retainer, and hopefully I can use it. It was cheap enough. I was afraid that the hole would close up. I have had my navel pierced for a few years now, and while I do carry quite a bit of weight around my middle, I can see the navel ring when I stand up or lie down. -

fivestar replied to carden's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I know what you're going through. My surgery is scheduled for Aug. 7th. It seems like the days a draaaagging along. Just try to keep yourself busy. Hang out with friends, or go for walks. It does help. Good luck. I know you'lle be fine. -
Work in a group home. When to return to work.
fivestar posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I know that everyone's case is different. But, on average, how long should I stay out of work? I work in a group home with 6 mentally, physically, and behaviorally challenged individuals. I do work latenights, so they are asleep most of the time. I also help them out in the morning with getting ready for day programs. (Bathing, medications, Breakfast, etc). -
:crazy:I have been taking "Zumba" classes for the last 3 months, and love it. It's a pretty intense workout. I never leave class dry. My question is, how long after surgery will I have to wait before I can get back into it? (tentative date 9/3/08. Still waiting insurance approval.)

I have a tentative date for 9/3/08. I am waiting on insurance approval, and my stomach is doing flips. Quite nervous about getting approved. Completed required test, eval, and consults. Did not loose too much weight during 6 mo nutrition plan. Although, was instructed not to do so. Have Connecticare? Has anyone had any problems with them?

Daily meds during post-op liquid diet phase
fivestar posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
:unsure:I take 3 meds daily for high blood pressure. Worried about how this will work during the post-op liquid diet phase. Please share your experiences. Thanks. (Still going through my 6 month nutrition plan). -
That makes me feel a little better. I have contacted my insurance co. Wow, you have done very well. Keep up the good work.

Hello all. I am in the lap-band evaluation process. I passed the psych eval., pulmonary evals, and am now going through with the 6 mos. nutrition plan as required by my insurance. My dietition says that my BMI is on the lower end. I do have hypertension, knee issues, plantar faciitis, and have been at times, borderline diabetic. A little worried if insurance will approve me with a 38.5 BMI. Has anyone out there been approved with BMI around my number.
