Immediately off of blood pressure medication after surgery. My surgeon even commented that my BP remained normal even during surgery and right after. Resting heat rate is at least 30 beats slower per minute. Stopped migraine medication immediately. Blood platelet medication reduced by half. Will continue to have everything monitored for awhile just to ensure all is well. Back, leg pain already greatly reduced. 4 weeks out tomorrow. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -

I had my surgery delayed because my blood counts were off. I was choked at the time but it was the right thing to do as I would have been at high risk for bleeding out. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -

I agree! They don't show the part when the models spit out the burgers take after take while filming. Burgers are my vice too and I have the most difficultly with those commercials as well. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

I find the older I get the less I give a crap what people think. Depending on the situation I may have even asked why they are looking at me that way. I have legitimate issues too. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

High Protein Diet vs. Counting Calories?
PaulaB72 replied to carolina07's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My NUT I'd protein goal focused as well. I have t been given a calorie goal at this point. As long as I meet my protein goal they're happy at this point. That may change once I'm further out though. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -
Hello, I've recently graduated to soft foods. This is also when I was instructed to start back up with my Vitamins, Calcium etc. However it appears that I may have an allergy to the calcium citrate. I don't believe it could be anything else as it is the only new thing I've started taking. I will be talking to my team (dr, nut, etc) on Monday about it, but I'm wondering in the mean time if anyone else has had the same issue and what alternatives have been suggested/offered. I'm going to stop taking it over the weekend and hope this settles down. Thank you in advance, Paula Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Weight Loss Surgery: Stand Up for Yourself against the Doctor
PaulaB72 replied to Alex Brecher's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Magazine
I'm so grateful for my GP. It was her idea to refer me to our bariatric clinic a couple of years ago. I saw her a week after surgery for a check up and drop some meds. She was so happy for me she was Teary eyed. Said that this would change things for me health wise so dramatically. And it has already. No more high BP pills, no more migraines and my resting heart rate is 30 beats slower per minute.! I'll be forever grateful to her for encouraging me to go this route.
