For the past 2 days I have awoke in the A.M. with what feels like hunger pangs. They come in waves or intervals of about 2 seconds each, about 10 seconds apart. They are pretty painful..now get this..they are stopped by eating. They go away for about 2 or 3 hours and return again. When I eat they go away. They seem a little too painful to be regular hunger pangs. I am on regular food per my doc. This happen to anyone else? :confused2:

Severe pain in side and back
Tres850 replied to georgia girl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I would go in if it happens again for sure. If I remember correctly, they did lots of upper GI tests to rule out things and maybe a CT scan. They said it was better to remove the gall bladder in a planned surgery than in an emergency situation, so I opted to go that route. From looking at past posts, gall bladder problems seem to be rather common after weight loss surgeries, especially since stones are generated by rapid weight loss. Good luck, I hope it doesn't come back! -
Please help..strange pains.

It feels like right in between where my ribs meet, where my stomach is (probably where my band is I guess). I've had my gall bladder removed a couple years ago, so it's not that. I was banded on 2/4/08. -
Severe pain in side and back
Tres850 replied to georgia girl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Before I had my gall bladder removed, the attacks were very painful. They were directly in the space in between my ribcage and seemed to go through to my back at times. It was a burning sensation at first, then became more of a dull stabbing pain (but my doc said that different people experience different pain from gall bladder attacks). -
They gave me pain killers, Flomax which helps relax the muscles in that area, and an antibiotic. Unfortunately, they said the stone has to pass on it's own. If it becomes unbearable, they will admit me for pain contol, but they really don't want to try anything invasive unless it is absolutely necessary. Do you feel the urge to go, but then only go a little? If so, I'd go ahead and go to your doc before it gets bad.. because once it gets to a certain point, only hard drugs will help that pain!

I was banded on 2/4/08 and have been having kidney pain for 2 weeks, on Friday they did a CT scan and found a kidney stone. It has been very painful, but I don't know if it is related to the surgery. My surgeon told me to stop taking calcium.

The weather is beautiful, the birds are singing, my family is gathered around a homemade peach cobbler.. and I'm at home alone. I was banded on 2/04/08. It has been easy and nearly pain free. Today I am a lil blue about the future, and feeling sorry for myself that I can't enjoy the food that I once did, and angry with myself that I'm not enjoying anything else! I don't know anyone that has gone through this before and don't have much of a support system sooooo.. I was hoping to meet some new friends on here that would help me get through this trying time. So whadda ya say? Friends?

Thanks everyone for the encouraging words! I guess I am just realizing how much I centered my "happiness" around food. I have to figure out how to enjoy new things now..
