Has anyone experienced the band being too tight?
pepsi32861 replied to Petphoto's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have found that stess makes the band tighter, also humidity can make it tighter and now I have also found that if for some reason you are put on prednisone quickly get an unfill as it too will cause the band to be too tight! If you are getting stuck on foods still I would go and have some unfilled again it is just not worth the pain and discomfort not to mention it is not good for your esophogus if you are vomiting. -

I feel like a loser, but not in a good way
pepsi32861 replied to Jorjet's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I was banded in 11/05 and i have only lost 75 pounds but i am not looking at that as a failure it is still a success! it is more than i have ever lost in my life and it has stayed off. did i want to lose more yes about 70 lbs more but if it is meant to be it will happen. please don't let yourself feel bad, take one day at a time and start small, even if you have something in the day you are not supposed to then just say ok that was my 1 goof of the day and continue on with the plan it will work if you just let it. good luck. -
Thinking real hard about getting banded
pepsi32861 replied to becca4uf's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I can answer for myself only ,but yes i can feel my port through my skin, i do still enjoy dinner out once a week as we have always done. I try not to eat things i am not supposed to but eventually we all try something and you will either have a problem or not...for me under no circumstances can I have any kind of bread...yes i have tried on 3 different occasions(glutton for punishment i guess) and every time it got stuck and i was in a lot of pain till it finally came up, i can honestly say after 3 tries i will not be trying that again! if you over eat you can get sick or just feel really bad from being too full both are not things i like to do. good luck to you I hope i was of some help. -
Feel like a bulimic...could use some help

I was banded 11/05 NS i Have been very stressed at work lately and it doesn't go away just cause i went home. anyway i had about 4 weeks where i could barely eat or drink anything then i finally went back to talk to the doc and then i was told that stress very much can make the band feel tighter so with that said i had them take out some of the fluid and it has been much better. i have not lost any weight in over a year but i have been staying the same so i look at that as a plus . don't feel like it is ok to always be getting sick, it is no good for you physically or mentally so please talk to your doctor and have some fluid removed. good luck to you. -
very nice, good luck to you.

If you are still losing, and you are not having any problems there is no reason for you to get a fill yet, wait until you feel like you are hungry all the time and you are eating too much and not losing weight then you will know it is really time for a fill

Looking for November 2005 Banders!

I have lost about 64 pounds since then but it has also been very slow for me too now, I lost one pound last month! You have to look at it as though it could take two years for us to achieve our goal and considering that then I am already to my half way goal. I am jump starting my system again by joining a gym and doing all kinds of different excercise and sticking with the 3 small meals daily. From what I am reading here it seems as though we have all slowed down to the bare minimum so maybe at this stage that is normal and we just have to continue doing the right things get over this plateau and we will start losing again. Good Luck to you, ask your doctor if maybe you are too filled and possibly he could take a small amount out that will make a difference for you. 11/9/05 275 lbs 09/23/06 206 lbs:) -
What would you do? One surgery or two?

Craving Sweets...Need help/suggestions
pepsi32861 replied to gentlespirit's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I have found that if you eat any kind of sugar product it makes you crave more sugar products so for me it takes 3-4 days of absolutely no sugar and then the cravings go away, then I just have to stay away from it all together or it becomes a viscious battle again and again. -
we are having the moms over for a mothers day BBQ and we will have a few more BBQ's over the summer with family and friends and then in August we are going on a cruise to Puerto Rico with my husband, son and My Mom and Dad. I am so excited I can't wait. :clap2:

I am down 60.:grouphug: -
yes! in a New York minute! I am so happy I did this to myself, I feel much better even though so far i have only lost 60 lbs and I am s months out, it is still 60 I couldn't have lost without the band and I truly do feel much better, I am looking forward to losing another 60 in the next year and with the help of my band and some serious work from me I believe it will happen.
