I am 9 days post op and am on 3 protein shakes daily and then just tea,crystal light or water...The problem is I am hungry and I thought I wasn't supposed to be. I was making dinner tonight for husband and son and some of the ground beef jumped out of the pan and without thinking about it I picked it up and ate it! I am not supposed to eat any food at all until November 30th, but with no restriction I am really finding this hard, By the way, the beef went down no problem! Now I also have a problem getting all that water in, If you can not drink until an hour after you drink a protein shake, and they take me an hour to drink them that kills at least six hours of a day sometimes more I am lucky if I get 30 oz. in. Any suggestions would be appreciated, November 30 just seems so far away and i don't want to screw this up.

I was told Biotin will help prevent that.

I think it is worth the wait, February is not that far away and it is a whole lot easier on you when someone else is paying for it, Also you won't have to go to mexico for it. Make mexico a vacation not a surgery. Just my opinion though hope it helps.

Jini I had a hard time with the liquid diet also until I discovered green tea, I don't usually like tea but in this case I not only liked it I was able to use it as a substitute for food! It worked great for me and maybe it will for you also. Good Luck, don't give up the results are worth it in the end.

Hi all, I was banded on November 9,05 in Port Jervis New York, I need to lose 120 lbs go for my first after care visit tomorrow hope all goes well. I am 44 and currently 257 lbs, goal weight of 130 or 140. I am the mother of two boys ages 17,24 and have been married for 25 years to my loving husband. I am only 5 days into this and I am a little concerned already because everyone I spoke to made it sound like there was no pain basically and I have been in pretty bad pain I think, also I find myself watching the foodtv channel all the time! I am on clear liquids and sticking to it but it is getting pretty boring. I see the doctor tomorrow so hopefully I will feel better after seeing him.

I am not sure it is, I have severe lower left pain and it was explained to me by the doctor that it could be from the surgery tools being prodded around inside me and that i could have the pain up to two months!(god I hope not!) The pain is a little less now and the best news I had my first weigh in- I lost 11 lbs in 5 days! Yahoo!

I was just banded on November 9th and I also have lower left abdominal pain, but I did call the doctor and he said that for some people that is normal from the instruments they used and all the moving around they had to do inside our bodies, sadly though he did say it takes some people two months for it to go away...So for you and I and anyone else having this pain I hope it goes away much quicker. Hope this helps though.

I just got it and am still in kind of a lot of pain but I believe it will get better each day,I am looking forward to seeing the doc on monday for my first set of results.

5 days after surgery I lost 11 lbs, very happy! Still in a decent amount of pain though but each day seems a little better than the day before.
