Isopure 20oz of fruit flavored drink (not too bad either) and 40mg of Protein - REALLY helps when you have the sinking feeling. best of luck !!! -
thank RedTulip...i am quite sure that is what i had. not fun and for me "not cool"...guess he is a stronger person than i am because it whimped me out - i'll never do that again, at least not on purpose. be well.

Hi Katie - i just had it done last week with "Ponce" as he is affectionally known...what a great guy - WONDERFUL - was hesitant about Sugar Land Surgical Hospital but guess what - IT WAS GREAT as well. Ponce is one of the best surgeons in the area - he is the "doctors' doctor"...you will love him. when will you be banded? Jack -
Hey BigMike - glad to hear you are doing well - re the energy - i had the same problem. Isopure liquid (fruit flavors) helped tremendously. its 20 oz's with 40g of Protein - doesnt take long and WOW - feeling much better. also a great source of protein which my doc keeps harping me about. Best of luck - be safe Jack

Hey BigMike (in a few months they will have to call you LittleMike) - congratulations - this is an amazing journey and i pray you make it in good health!!! see you on the LEO site - one suggestion, it may be different for you - but stay hydrated - that was my only boo boo in this whole thing so far - those isopure drinks (if approved by your doc) were great source of light fluid with lots of protein. be well and be healthy !

Hey HarleyGirl - LEO and a rider - i was a solo for about 10 years - have 2 now 06 RK and an 07 Electra Glide which is a Police Bike i use for "extra" jobs etc. i was banded Monday - and am already down almost 15 LBS - so are there a lot of LEO's on this site / what about Harley riders? best of luck to you on your journey. hey BigMike - i'm a Lt with the local SO...and i got banded monday - let me tell you up front - 3rd day is a Bear...today is GREAT - weird - no abnormal hunger or anything - my doc let me eat popsicles during the clear liquid phase and you won't believe how much you learn to love chicken broth and lemon!!! as a brother officer and bander i wish you the best - not to lose but to REDUCE permanently. i'll need new leather once this is over. be well and keep us posted.

after worrying my you know what off...i am not 4 days post op - 10 lbs lighter and thankful to my doc, G. Ponce de leon and Sugar Land Surgical Hospital (yes there is a town called Sugar Land just outside of Houston) ...what can i say - they were the best. that and these threads have been my support and will be the reasons for my success. thanks to all who post - its what helped me make the decision and helped me through these first days. i am so excited to be starting this new phase of my life. YEE HA :cursing::thumbup: ps- i never thought chicken broth and a bit of lemon could taste so good - yum yum

Spring - absolutely...beautiful place to ride my Harley when i get back on my feet !!! my doc took about 3 months - i had called before about insurance and once i found out that it was covered they went to work - they got all the docs together and submitted - very little back and forth - once approved i was the one who DELAYED - out of fear / aprehension - cant believe i was such an idiot for waiting - he did my gallbladder at same time - needed it out months ago but wanted to wait and do together. you just need to make regular calls to the office - if they do this on a regular basis they know the routine and will "git r done".

NewBee...NooBee...regardless how you spell it - here i am...best friend is my surgeon - all the confidence in the world in the procedure - but have failed miserably with the pre-op diet...2 liquids per day and a minute "real" meal - banding on monday combined with gallbladder - biggest worry is being able to stick to the week of liquids only - any suggestions...secrets on making liquid taste good - looking forward to the support, thanks in advance. best to all - jack
