@@Mane2016 Hi! I too was sleeved on 5/10 .. I finally feel human again (as of today) .. I'm not hungry as you mentioned but I'm still struggling with using the breathing thingy.. I still feel air or Gas in my lungs.. I can't wait to see my Doctor on Wednesday for the follow up so I can start getting in some Protein .. I'm totally looking forward to all the great rewards that await us !

@@Kellyann86 Call your Doctor Monday and inform him of the refusal . I was told if the Sleep study isn't approved for any reason, then you get to do a take home sleep study, which in my opinion the best because you can do it in your home . I hated the Sleep study and the facility I had to go to. The doctor is used to some patients being refused and so they are prepared with options such as the take home test. All the best !

I was Sleeved Tuesday as well. It gets better.. I too experienced the negative thoughts ,due to the gas pain and constipation ,but please Hang in there. I actually started to feel human yesterday and today was a bad day. It's definitely the hills (hi and lows) of the surgery. Keep in mind why you wanted the surgery and look ahead and feel beyond the pain.. Look at some old pics and maybe hang up an outfit you look forward to wearing. Trust me , its gets better !! Keep walking ,sipping and breathing into the breathing tool.. Take the pain meds !! Please let me know how your doing ! You totally got this !!

My surgery was Tuesday May 10th @7am. SW 236lbs Pre-op before 2 week liquid diet 238lbs Last weigh in with Surgeon 5/2 230lbs Day of surgery 222lbs I'm doing well with every passing day.. I have to say it was everything I expected and then it was not what I expected. As the Doctor was trying to wake me up out of the Anesthesia, the pain was very overwhelming. I had two children both were vaginal natural births. The Sleeve tops them in pain and discomfort. It hurt to talk , move and forget about trying to get out of bed.. But I am learning to position myself and lean on a small step stool I have near my king size bed. The nurses and Doctor were all wonderful ! I was asked about pain every hour or so , assistance was offered to me so that I can walk, I just couldn't the day of surgery). I'm thankful for all the advice and support from all you. Packing my bag , I just needed -ChapStick , tooth brush and tooth paste. Everything else I was not allowed to use, this particular hospital only wants you in their clothing oh and my cellphone charger I had. Even though I'm enduring some veryyy uncomfortable Gas feelings, I'm happy with my decision. I'm taking the pain meds around the clock , I realized very early , that I need to stick to the schedule. Oh my Goodness.. I'm packing my bag.. My surgery is at 7am .. I have to be at the hospital at 530 am..... Talk about NERVES !! I just want to thank ALL OF YOU (even though I don't know you personally) FOR YOUR SUPPORT , ADVICE, & ENCOURAGEMENT on this Forum !! I have learned soooo much and I feel very prepared for my surgery Tmw , May 10th. Thank youuuu I will post as soon as I can , please be patient with me as I will focus first on walking and resting and sipping,but just as soon as I can update you all ,I will . Its very bitter sweet saying this today but see you ON THE LOSERS BENCH ! XOXO

Hello everyone ! Happy to Say Tuesday May 10th is the Big Day ! I will finally be Sleeved ! ???? I'm preparing to pack an overnight bag for my hospital stay. Can anyone please tell me what to bring and what not to bring ?? So far I'm packing : Toothpaste & Toothbrush ChapStick Cellphone & Charger Robe (to walk the floors) Pajamas & slippers Gas Strips Binder (compression garmet Doc recommended) Pillow (was told it helps with the card ride home) I appreciate your help ! Please call your Doctor right now and explain how you feel. My Doctor and NUT both forwarned me that I will experience the hi and low'sss to this surgery. I have been preparing myself mentally for that. Please get help now ! Wish u the very best.

Yes we are !! We got this !! I'm on Day 5 of the liquids diet from h*ll (Sleeve surgery is May 10th) and not looking forward to Day 6 but what can I say ?!? ..I'm ready !! HOME STRETCH FROM HERE !! ALL THE WAY TO THE LOSERS BENCH !! Let's goooooo !! May sleevers we got this !! Gnite !

I have medicaid in NJ @@ecoreen94 and I'm getting the sleeve May 10th. I started the process in Jan . You will need to first call your medicaid provider and ask if you have that coverage available. Then you need a Doctor to refer you ,and it goes from there.... I hope this helps..

Im sorry to hear about your Husband.. Things will get better soon.. I too experienced a lay off from a company after 10 Years.. I now have the best job ,but I wouldnt have know it ,if I wasnt laid off and had to find something else (Thank God ) .. It is difficult at first but you seem very supportive and that sounds like what he needs. Keep up the good work !! Your going to pull through this a more stronger couple and hey who knows an even lighter ,healthier more happier Marriage as the result !! Win win !!

Not sure on this totally..but my Doctor offered me the option of doing a single incision through my belly button for $1500 cash.. My insurance is covering my sleeve on 5/10 however he explained to me that he would need to do between 6-7 incisions .. He said the one incision in the belly button is quick and less painful with no scaring. Maybe you can ask if your Doctor overs this

Hi @@OBXhappy ! I'm so sorry to hear of your denial.. I wouldn't give up .. Especially since you were told that you some of your initial concerns wouldn't be a problem. Call your surgeons office and demand for an appeal to be submitted in your behalf and tell the office to have the paper together with supportive documents. Stay on it! This happens often ,but you will have it approved if you stick with it ! All the Best to you ! Also... On the other side , to answer your question regarding successful diets, I was on Phentermine for 7 months and I lost 80lbs.. Ask your Doctor about it, and. Google it and do your research . I look forward to hearing about your progress ! Take Care !
