Bad Body Odor After RNY?
LynnMarie456 replied to Debra Henson's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Hi Debra, Try using a whole food organic Protein powder. The cleaner the food the better. By whole food i mean the powder's contents are made up from real foods and not chemicals. This might help you. There are many out there. You will get hooked on them because they feel wonderful. Your surgery has made your senses more acute too. Like I can now taste all fake sugars which is odd for me. Because you eat so little you become sensitive to everything that goes in your body. The more organic and nutritious the better you will feel. Let me know if it helps. Lynn -
Hi. Also means whole food organic Protein powders. Read about them. Once you start, it's your new addiction. I also switch my brands around and use 2 at a time alternating to take advantage of all the different nutrients. Clean eating makes you feel wonderful and it can only help. Good Luck Lynn

Hi. You should be at not even or about a half a cup a day per meal. Your carbs are too high. I never eat a meal over 5-6 carbs. Your Protein powder should never be over 5 carbs. Total carbs for the day shouldn't be over 39. Calories total for the day should be no more than 800. You follow these rules and that makes you have smart food choices. The first year is your time to lose and you should take advantage of it. You must take your bariatric Vitamins and eventually start on an additional Omega 3-6-9 oil in addition to your smoothie. Have your doc run your Vitamin levels to see where they are at. I am a little over 4 months out and had my levels ran in March after 3 solid months of only bariatric chewables (Bariatric Fusion) just to see how effective they were. I was just low on D3 (i don't absorb D3 well and never have so i believe its not the vitamins but me) So i added a liquid D3 and my omega oil which i just add to my Protein Drink every morning like i said. I have a double scoop protein drink to be sure i get my 80-90 protein every day and i always sip it slow with almond milk since its lower in carbs. I was also advised to switch around my protein powders so i may absorb the different vitamins in each. I was also advised to use a whole food protein powder. Just like my dogs i would always switch their food between all the natural dog food choices so they weren't lacking and they led very healthy lives. My homeopathic vet said this would keep them healthy and it did, so why not for us? I've lost 80 pounds so far 50 to go so its working for me and I'd thought i'd share. I have never hit a stall (knock on wood) Most important-3 meals a day only. No snacking or Protein Bars (creates (old) bad habits). 64 ounces of Water every day in between. Best of Luck! Lynn

Help! I think I eat too much.

Hi. I had my surgery 11/23/15. I measure everything so i don't over eat. I am still at 1/2-3/4 cup total per meal at the most. I've lost 70 so far. I always get in my Water and only 3 meals a day. I never snack to avoid bad grazing habits. That would be my down fall. I don't ever eat any chip type or bars of any kind because I also feel for me this would trigger me into eating my old types of foods. The cravings are gone so this is easy for me. Eat my Protein first and i use reduced fat whenever i can. I am always reading labels and I don't like artificial ingredients if I can help it. I always have a protein drink in the morning with almond milk and that starts me out with 50 grams of protein in the beginning of each day. No caffeine or carbonation. I will drink a protein drink every morning probably for the rest of my life. Makes me feel good and it tastes good too. I use Jay Robb chocolate and i love it. I use the Bariatric fusion chewable wafers and I take 4 per day which is super easy (2 am 2 pm). From what i read I think snacking is what gets people in trouble. Its all about the quantity. I also use the Baritastic app to track what i eat all day. Then i record them in a journal once a week so i have a permanent record. So far so good. For me all this works. For others it could be a different story.
