My largest incision has turned into a keloid, and on my next visit, I am going to find out what I can do about it. It's now hard, so I don't think anything topical will work. I may have to have it removed. I had one removed on my ear a few years ago, and it has not grown back

Where will YOU shop?
theninside replied to skinnyoneday's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I've seen Greatglam.com and they do have some fierce items. They have some plus sizes too. I used to like NY& co, so I think I will hit there again. Luckily many designers have a plus size collection. Except for Vikie's which may be a good thing -
Shhh...Keep it in the Closet!?

Saying I use weight watchers is a method that I use now. I heard people make judgemental remarks about people getting surgery for weight loss. And no matter what procedure it is most people do lump everything under gastric bypass. That also is the reason I haven't put a pic up. With the exception of a few people I don't think everyone has to know -
What has weight kept you from doing?

I can't wait to learn how to swim. Can you believe weight kept me from learning because I didnt want to put on a swimsuit. I didnt think sweat pants and a t shirt would go over to well/ -

Tell us about yourself

I'm gald you said that now I don't feel to bad about also wanting to keep my surgery private. I am 32, from Pennsylvania and have been engaged for years. lol. I work in the legal profession. I have been banded for a year, and not until my recent fill has the weight been melting off. I have kept my surgery private with the exception of a few people, because I have found people to be so judgmental. People have noticed the weight loss, so I just blame it on weight watchers. lol. I'm hoping to be swimsuit material by next summer -
Has anyone had any weird perks of having started losing weight?

What was the deal with coffee? I still drink it and haven't noticed any negative effects yet, but if there are long term side effects, that would be good to know. I have recently given up soda completely, I've seen what that can do. -
is it possible you have too much redtriction. I too have been vomiting up everything since my last recent fill. however its from everything getting stuck because I do not have any nausea.
-
I am thinking i am also a little too tight. I had a fill two weeks ago, and since then I was able to actally eat a piece of broiled fish on two occassions. I really can't figure it out, because Friday I was able to eat, but last night I through up a popsicle I had for dinner. I'm not getting enough protein, but and my veggies come from V-8's. I was told by a mentor to stick it out and see if the weight comes off.

Went from no restriction to restriction overnight
theninside replied to pjd3253's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm no expert but I thing it is way too early to be eating steak, chicken, and turkey, or any fibrous meats. Even well chewed it's still a thick chewed up chunk of meat, that doesn't go down well. -

Forget part of the last post I didnt realize that tri-care was from the military. So financing may have to be an option -

I really don't understand some of the reasoning with some of the insurance companies, I have Aenta, and because I didnt have any weight related health problems, I had to document for three years that I had seriously tried to lose weight on my own, so I had to submit years of doctors reports, prescriptions and gym memberships, and after a year and a 1/2 I was approved, but other I know with Aetna, were flatly denied. I would switch health insurance if possible. I have been told that BC/BS has not been giving people a hassle -
I hate it when people post just to post.....

How was the cat prepared? -
I just recently had my second fill, so I am no expert, but it seems that hot liquids loosen up the restriction, so if your drinking coffee during the day that may be a reason, I also read in another forum that soda may assist in loosening restriction.

Soda soda soda
theninside replied to MrsFlipFlops's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Thanks for your posting the reasons why diet soda is bad for the band. I continued drinking soda after my first fill and when I went back for the second I had lost my fill, and now I am thinking it is because of the diet Dr. Peppers. I haven't had any since, and I already notice rapid lost. -
2 fills and absolutely zero restriction
theninside replied to jaylow's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I had no restriction after my first fill, and when I recently went back for the second, and was told that my fluid had leaked out. I don't why it leaked, but no I am wondering if I have too much restriction because It's labored for me to drink water, I have another appt for a fill in 30 days, but I am trying to hold out until then -
Do you burp more now that you are banded? (non-productive, just air)
theninside replied to dustout's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I have very long burps now, where I never used yo burp anything likes this. I had my first fill on 1/10/08 and the burping started some time after that. Does anyone know why your burping changes. The first time it happened I was in shock while I was burping becaues I could not believe I was burping that long. -
favorite foods you can no longer eat
theninside replied to mustlose's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
All the things that I can't eat are mostly things that I shouldn't be eating, the other day I had a craving for Mcdonald's fries. I can assure you that never again will I ever had craving for that again, It felt like I was having a heart attack with a couple of fries. Chicken also bothers me sometimes, mostly the breasts. I'm fine w/bread although I try to stay away, and I drink diet soda, although I'm supposed to drink that flat -
I totally agree.

I am glad fort you that you are sexually free. And I especially agree that religion and politics are very controversial topics that can divide peopl wh would otherwise have everything in common. I think you then go on to insult and disrespect those of us who have a belief in Jesus and a strong faith base. I respect your belief to not believe in a higher power, those are your beliefs. But I come her for support and fellowship for fellow banders, I don't preach that your going to burn in hell for eternity for non-belief. I just think you alienated a lot of open minded people who happen to hold religious beliefs
