    That figures!!!:cool2: Around 20-30 net carbs, but I'm also getting around 100g of Protein. To figure your net carbs, take the total carbs and subtract the Fiber from it. I'm pretty tight right now in the mornings, so I'm sticking with a shake to get my protein in. A typical menu for me is: Breakfast- 7am - EAS carb advantage shake Snack (not everyday)- 10am - another shake lunch - 12pm - 3oz can of tuna with light mayo and sugar-free Jello. Maybe some nuts, too, if I'm really hungry. Snack (only if didn't have am snack) - 3pm - jello or a shake dinner - 6pm - Some type of meat (around 5-6oz), green Beans and a sugar free popsicle. Absolutely nothing but something to drink between dinner and bedtime. The shakes have 110 calories, 1g net carbs and 17g of Protein. I'm less restricted in the evenings, so I eat a bit more for dinner than any other time of the day. That keeps me full through the evening. This plan is working! I'm down 9 lbs since last Monday. It's the honeymoon phase on low-carb for me, so the loss will slow. The band helps with the hunger, which makes it nice. Thanks! To be honest, I'm open to anything. I'd like to stay in healthcare, but I don't have to. I just want to make some more money! :thumbup:

    Elizabeth - I'm so sorry for your loss. I know how hard it is. I was very close to my grandparents and they are gone now. Hang in there and take peace in that he is no longer suffering. Let me know if you need anything.:thumbup:

    I know what you mean. Sometimes I think Jeannie doesnt' believe me when I say that I'm consistently exercising when the scale doesn't move. As I've said before, I wan't given much of a metabolism. :cool2: For me, it comes down to more than just the calorie counting. Carbs have a serious impact on my weight loss. Unfortunately, I love carbs. Too bad they don't love me back. :thumbup: Will there be a Zumba class 12/29? I'm off work that day and I can make it to the class!

    I bounce around alot. I find that if I don't exercise as much, it happens more. God forgot to give me a metabolism....:biggrin: I went for a few weeks bouncing around the same 5 lbs. It's pretty frustrating, but I know it's my fault because of the foods I've chosen. I've been doing low carb for the past week and I'm down 8 lbs in one week! I have been getting roughly 900-1000 calories and 80-100g of Protein. I'm going to do it through Wednesday and then take a few days off for the holidays and my birthday, but will get right back to it after my B-day on the 26th--it just works too well not to. I want to be at goal by my one year mark and that's the only way it's going to work! Passing on all the treats at work over the past week has been pure you-know-what, but so worth it! My Mom and I went shopping Friday night and I got a pair of size 14 jeans at Christopher and Banks that fit perfect! Granted, they are stretchy, but the tag says 14 and I'll take it!!! Froggi- You should see my husband today. He has a fill appointment, too. His is at 12, I think.

    Hi Matt. Welcome and ask us anything that comes to mind! Elizabeth- I'm sorry again about your grandpa. My grandpa was in the hospital at Christmas time right before he passed away. It was horrible. Jennifer- You hit the nail on the head! I have no energy to enjoy exercise or even want to for that matter. It's simply because it's dark when I go to work and dark when I leave work. Yuck, talk about depressive! I was enjoying exercise, but lately it feels like I don't have enough time to get everything done, like I've slowed down. I'm sure it's the lack of Daylight. How do people in Alaska do it??? Update for me- I have really adjusted my eating habits the last 2 weeks. I had a fill last week and was disappointed with no loss. So...I started low-carb and it's working, taking me out of my stall. I'm down 5 last week and 2 so far this week. On a personal note, I graduated with my Masters in Public Administration last week! If you know of any job prospects, let me know! I'm interested in a change!

    Hey Elizabeth- My Mom and I went shopping today. We were at the mall by 3:30am and in line! We do it every year and have a blast. I got most of my shopping done today. We went until about 2pm. I saw Kar there, too! Hope that everyone had a great turkey day!

    They're there on Saturdays. I did my pre-op for my EGD on Saturday. I can't remember when they called me, but if you don't hear from them, just make sure you show up at your scheduled time.

    Laura- I like the taste of the South Beach bars. If you don't like soy though, they may be a little grainy (?) for you. But, the taste is good! I agree with you on the protein water. The taste was a little weird.

    Elizabeth - I hope that you're feeling better. I didn't have any issues with him and he was nice. After he put the 2cc in, I couldn't get the water down very well. I kept burping and it kept coming back up. I had 8oz of chili in the magic bullet for dinner. It's the same consistency as milk, but tastes just like chili, plus great protein! I made it with kidney beans, lean hamburger, turkey sausage and V8 (of course, spices, too). It was pretty good and the consistency is not bad.

    Hi everyone. I had my fourth fill today. He filled 2cc more and had to take 1cc out before I left because I could swallow the cup of water without it coming back up! Hopefully this time it will work! All 5cc that he had in there last time were still there. I still can't figure out what happened to the rest of it, but at least it didn't leak for the last month!     I switched from Special K protein bars to South Beach Meal Replacement bars. They have 210 calories, but have 19g of Protein! They are a little higher in calories, but worth the extra Protein to me, since I have a hard time getting all my Protein in!

    Thanks for all the well wishes everyone. I hope that I don't need to have my port replaced, though that would be better than having a problem with the band! I had awesome restriction after my last fill in October, but it seems to be getting less and less everyday. Plus, when they checked the amount in my band in my last fill it was 1.5cc less than where it should have been. Not sure if it was hiding out behind an air pocket or what??? Elizabeth- I do get sweet cravings around my period time. It is probably related to that I eat some carbs. I still do get all of my protein in. I eat a South Beach bar for breakfast which has 19g of protein, so that helps. I find that I eat the most at lunch time, as I'm less restricted at that time of the day. If I'm really craving something, I eat a little of it. I know that if I completely stop eating something like ice cream that I'll crack! A couple of bites once in awhile does the trick and no real calorie harm done so long as it is 1 or 2 bites. Of course, if I were eating only low carb, then it would be off limits. I've done that pre-band and well, I obviously cracked!

    Froggi- Congrats on the weight loss! That's awesome! Elizabeth- I know what you mean about the ice cream! I picked up some in the store yesterday, carried it around for awhile and then put it back. :Dancing_sorry: It was so hard!!! Dr. Kaplan thinks I might have a slow leak in my port. I talked with Jeannie today and I'm scheduled for Monday to have my fill amount rechecked/added/etc. My restriction is getting less and less everyday. I'll let you all know what happens.
  25. I had pretty good restriction for the first couple of weeks. Now, it's alot less. Dr. thinks I may have a slow leak in my port. I go for a check-up/fill on Monday, so we'll see. I haven't weighed in about 3 weeks, so we'll see there, too. I was tired of being a slave to the scale, so I just quit. Congrats on your weight loss! That's awesome!!!:Dancing_sorry:
