Did anyone have their gallbladder removed at the same time as their surgery? My surgeon wants to remove mine at the same time and I was wondering if the down time is longer or if it's pretty much the same? If you did this will you tell me about your experience please. My surgeons office is becoming a nightmare! I got my surgery approval finally begining of april. I'm still waiting for office to schedule my surgery. They keep calling me and asking for things that I've already given them. They made me get another galbladder sono. Now they are asking when and where I was diagnosed with sleep apnea. I gave them that at the very begining (one of my comorbidities). Found out my insurance coordinator never asked for the reports. I swear this woman has been done with me since the first denial I got from my insurance. Once I got denied the secind time it's been hell. Even now that I'm approved it's like she's refusing to move my file forward to get scheduled. I feel like I need to just throw in the towel and go to another surgeon. I was so set on Dr. Kim and getting the inverted gastric sleeve from him but I feel like I'm being punked or I'm on the show boiling point where things are done just to see how far they can push somone before they break. I'm on such a time crunch at work! They keep telling me they need me to put in my time immediately because our office is about to split and after may I won't have any time until December. Ok finally sent an email to both the insurance lady and the manager. Told them I needed a date by the 29th of april. And that I have told them repeatedly how much of a time crunch I'm under. My insurance coordinator emailed back saying it's out of her hands..... then about an hour later the manager emailed me back and apologized and said she will absolutely call me by the end of the week. Melissa started handling it- and after numerous issues- I asked for Summar to handle everything. I still wound up switching doctors because I backed out of my surgery in 2011. I had my sleeve done in Nov 12 by dr. hodges.I am having the same problems! ! I have Melissa and it's been a nightmare!! I'm gonna ask for summar to handle things from now on. I'm feeling like I need to go somewhere else. I know this post was a while ago but I've been looking for this very thing. It's like Melissa is trying tog screw me! I have PCOS as well. I havnt gotten surgery yet but I'm also hoping this will help my PCOS reverse. I have very bad facial and neck and chest and back hair. I've actually been turned down for a job because of my weight. The only reason I know I'd because a friend of mine worked there and I had exactly the skill they needed but chose someone else. I asked her to be truthful and tell me why they turned me down and after some coaxing she told me i she heard them talking about not having enough Snacks to keep me happy. So although it hurt my feelers a bit I just moved along. My friend ended up leaving that job a few weeks later and finding another one because she too is over weight and she no longer felt comfy working there with what she heard. They want to remove it because I have a ton of gallstones with minor discomfort. They said it will cause problems later down the road because of how packed with stones it is. I don't know about the letter but I wpuld like to share with you that I was in a similar situation. I was so afraid to tell my parents. 32 years old with a hubby and child of my own but I just knew they would be against it and try and say I was taking the easy way. I finally decided to tell them and they were so supportive. That's very unusual because my family is judgy. They have really been very interested in my whole process now and are looking forward to me getting healthy. I truly believe that as your parents she will be much more receptive then you may think. I had the band in 2008 and got it removed in 2011. I hated the band so much haha. It was such a relief getting it out. It was a long story. I'm now getting the sleeve and I've read a lot of people are very successful with the sleeve once they get rid of the band.
