Its so funny I just came across this because I literally just hung up w/ my stylist after scheduling an appointment for a cut today. Anyway, my cut costs $40, and I usually leave a $5 tip. I dont know what the 'proper' amount is but thats what I leave. If I had color of somehting, I'd probably give more.

Miss Michelle replied to pinkdots410's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Kiki- I feel your pain!!! I have gone from a 46DD, sometimes even a 44DDD to a 38D!! My poor boobies have deflated. I guess I knew that they never stood a chance, anytime I lose weight they are the first to go...I better start saving for some new ones! -
I can't wait to wear something like this....

Well, looking around it seems like we are one of the only groups with no posts. So, I thought that we could all introduce ourselves... My name is Michelle, I am 26 and was banded May 23,08 by Dr. Fielding. So far since beigining my pre-op diet on May 9th, I am down 51 lbs with a long way still to go. I could not be happier with my choice of surgeon and actually like going in for my post op and fill visits. Although I do think they need a larger office, lol. I was thinking of going on NYU's WLS patients cruise in August. I am not sure if it's an annual thing, but has anyone else out there attended before?

Restricted foods that you can't live without?
Miss Michelle posted a topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Before surgery I was warned about all of the things I wont be able to eat- dry chicken breast, steak, etc, etc. I knew that even though I love a good steak I can live without it but...I love seafood! Fish alone- not so much. My doc says that I wont be able to have lobster or shrimp for a while since it can be rubbery sometimes, and to stay far away from Calamari forever. This I can deal with the calamari, but I am wondering if anyone has had successfully had shrimp or lobster since being banded. Of course, its not something I will have regularly but I miss it! -

I have been married for six years now, but I met alot of my ex's and even my now hubby thru mutual friends. If you are moving to an area where you dont know anyone, I'd check the PA thread on LBT to see who you might meet and make friends with. Ya never know. :lovechoc:

I am going through something similar. My hubby has been moody lately and is making comments about him feeling/being fat. He is very much apple shaped, where he has lean arms and legs and carries his weight in his belly. He is trying to lose weight, but not in a healthy way. He will eat only one meal a day sometimes, or spend a few hours a day in the gym. I keep trying to explain that he cant go about it that way, but he doesnt want to hear it. I have talked to my mom about it and she thinks he is just insecure. I asked him if hes up to going to counceling but he says no. So really, I dont have any good advice for you since I am in the same boat with no solutions, but I wanted to share so you know you are not alone. Good Luck!

Does anyone know the cost of fills???
Miss Michelle posted a topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
So I just got a phone call from my hubby at work. His employer has decided to change insurance carriers for employees from Ofxord to GHI. Thankfully, I have already had surgery in May, but now I am worried because Dr. Fielding does not take GHI and I do not want to switch doctors. Does anyone know what a fill/post op-visit will cost without insurance coverage??? -

Kiki-I had the same NSV just a week or so ago! I havent bought new towels for a while so I am down to 2 beach towels that I use, while everyone else uses regular bath towels. Anyway, I found that I am now able to use a regular towel too! I am throwing my old beach towels out for good! YAY, US!! -
I have been to two different parties (one was a pure romance party I held at home) and both were so much fun. Its you and a bunch of your girlfriends hanging out together, with drinks and snacks, getting to see things up close without having to go to a local porn shop. The host gave information on new products, and we played silly games. We had one game where peanut m&m's were in a bowl, and using a straw you have to have enough suction to transfer them one by one into a seperate cup. Much harder than it sounds, and the winner won a prize. We talked about relationships, tested and taste tested lotions and oils (using your hands), questions were answered, and there was a drawing for a grand prize- a mini buterfly shaped vibe. The best part about the pure romance party, was that the host had brought enough product with her that almost all items the guests ordered were available for take home that same day. No waiting like other parties I have been to. If you are thinking about hosting one, you should ask the companies you speak to if this is something they can do. Your guests will love the being able to have thier order the same day.

OK, I know bad before pictures make for a more dramatic after, but just for the record, I hate, hate, hate this before pic.... Anyway, here goes nothin... Before.... In Progress....

I have hosted a 'Pure Romance' party and have attended a 'Fantasia' party. I am sure you can find more info about both online. Have fun ; )

NSV Thread for the May Bandsters!
Miss Michelle replied to pinkdots410's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hey Everyone! Just thought I'd share some of my recent NSV's: I went shopping in Lane Bryant yesterday and picked up a pair of pants they had on sale dirt cheap thinking "yay, they've got one left in my size" then I realized I dont wear a 24 anymore!!! I completely forgot for that split second that I am down to an 18/20! I was hit on twice in the same week. And so what if one of the guys worked at taco bell....atleast he has a job, LOL!!! Seriously though, it always nice to know someone out there other than your hubby thinks your cute, right??? I started going to the gym two weeks ago. It used to take me thirty minutes to walk a mile. I am down to a 15 minute mile-and can jog about 1/3 of the way! I know most healthy people can do it in half that time, but I am thrilled at my progress so far and know it will only continue to improve. I used to feel like I was gonna die just walking up my flight of stairs to my apartment. Yesterday, I walked all over the mall, walmart, and the outdoor outlet stores with no problems!!! I :mad2: MY BAND! -
Congrats on your success so far! You are doing great! Before you know it you will be at goal:laugh:

I just hit 62lbs down since begining my pre-op diet on 5/9. I :heart:my band!!! -
Can I just say that I am happy to hear that most women have a newly found sexual desire after sugery and weight loss, becuase since being banded in may my need for any kind of sexual activity has completely gone out the window. I can already say that I will be much more open to things I may not have been up for before once I am more comfortable with my body, but right now I am just too tired to by days end. I am not in the mood when pre-op, usually I was the one initiating. I am less than three months out, so I am hoping that its just because of all the ongoing changes that is making me tired and my body simply needs to adjust. I will be looking forward to when I am up for it on a regular basis again and I am sure my hubby is too! I say, dont question it, just enjoy it!!!

I have one similar but my fave is completely opposite of everyone else. It spins, vibrates, has beads inside the bottom and a second attached vibrating thing. Very much like the rabbit on that sex and the city episode.I don't own a bullet.
