Still stalled - and hungry. Where's the magic weight loss i was promised?
Bee healthy replied to Seastars's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Same here. -
I had my surgery July 5. I thought some of the same things...like why don't have feel restriction after 1to 2 oz ? Or why am I starving. It's such a head game even with this wonderful tool. My advice is to keep working your program per doctor and the weight will come off. I'm losing slower than most but my BMI was lower. I am expected it. One thing I am focusing on is sticking with my new food choices and trying to make all of this a habit before my weight loss stops. To quote Dory" Just keep swimming"

Excellent!!! What do you contribute your success to? I read many posts from people struggling with weight gain and not feeling the restriction after some time. I am four months out and worried about putting the weight back on. Any advice for long term success?

Eating too much? Metformin?
Bee healthy replied to juneau's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
One thing I have noticed, everyone gets personalized instructions from their surgeon and NUT....and they are all different I stopped Metformin three days before and was told not to take it again. My blood sugar shot through the roof immediately after surgery but then stabilized before my release. It's been normal since. So happy to have one less pill to take!! -

I was just sitting here w design if pops were considered liquid or food! Thanks for the comment above Am I doing my pouch harm if I have one after eating? Since it's sort of a liquid, does it fall into the category of drinking after eating? I am supposed to wait 30 min after food. -

My surgery was July 5 and I just passed the 30 pound weight loss Mark. Working towards 35. Now that I can eat regular food, I am feeling the restriction again. Not complaining, just mains sure I get my protein and water in. I had lettuce and tomatoes with steak...that I chewed really well. It was so fantastic. I have been craving salad! Everything settled great! -

Any advice with fat/carb targets? Using Lose it app for tracking
Bee healthy posted a topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I am tracking in the lose it app and want to set goals for Protein, Fat, Carbs. Yesterday I had my 6 week meeting with my NUT. She gave me protein goals and said lower fat and slightly higher carbs. My calories should now increase to 900-1000 and my protein between 70-80 Is anyone else tracking fats and carbs? I am not sure what to put as a goal for fat/carbs in the app. I was approved for all foods but in my previous life I was a low carb girl. I am finding the thought of increasing carb levels ( good carbs) scary. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! -
I use unflavored Syntrax nectar. I do not notice a taste or after taste.

I think all insurance requirements are different and you have to consider the doctors schedule too. My insurance required 6 mths of nutritional counsel. I started Dec 2016 and had my surgery July 6. During that time, I did all the tests, evals etc. it went very fast and I am so glad I had the nutritional counsel. It has helped! Good luck to you!!! Best decision I ever made -

Had my NUT appt yesterday. Approved for all foods now. She said I am on track! Was told to start increasing calories to 900-1000. Protein 60-80 My NUT said lower fat, slightly higher carbs. That's scary to me because I am a former low carb dieter. Anyone have suggestions how to set goals in fitness pal for P/C/F? -
Congrats!!!!!!!! You are going to love this journey!!! Best of luck to you

Did anyone NOT have a miserable recovery?

One more thing, I could not stand the chocolate, vanilla thick shakes for the first two weeks. I was so glad I had the Nectar orange from Syntrax. It was exactly what I needed. -

Hi! I had my surgery on July 5. It was a breeze! Previously I had gallbladder removal, partial hysterectomy and knee surgery. This sleeve was nothing like that. I was up walking around and feeling great right after surgery. Everyone's experience is different but it helps to be positive and prepared! Take so me GasX strips with you and start walking asap. Gas was the most pain I felt. Best of luck to you, I think you will do great -

I am sorry you are having problems and I hope it gets better soon. Are you still drinking protein shakes? I have one every morning but add 1/2 cup coffee and some torani syrup. It's great and premier protein has 30 grams of protein. The new Atkins protein water is similar in taste to a Popsicle, maybe that would go down easy. Another thing I do is add unflavored protein to drinks like crystal lite lemonade or SF orange crush drink mix. I hope you feel better soon! -
