I had my surgery July 5. I thought some of the same things...like why don't have feel restriction after 1to 2 oz ? Or why am I starving. It's such a head game even with this wonderful tool. My advice is to keep working your program per doctor and the weight will come off. I'm losing slower than most but my BMI was lower. I am expected it. One thing I am focusing on is sticking with my new food choices and trying to make all of this a habit before my weight loss stops. To quote Dory" Just keep swimming"

Excellent!!! What do you contribute your success to? I read many posts from people struggling with weight gain and not feeling the restriction after some time. I am four months out and worried about putting the weight back on. Any advice for long term success?

Eating too much? Metformin?
Bee healthy replied to juneau's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
One thing I have noticed, everyone gets personalized instructions from their surgeon and NUT....and they are all different I stopped Metformin three days before and was told not to take it again. My blood sugar shot through the roof immediately after surgery but then stabilized before my release. It's been normal since. So happy to have one less pill to take!! -

Did you do keto right after your surgery? Or is this something you adopted after a few months? -

I was just sitting here w design if pops were considered liquid or food! Thanks for the comment above Am I doing my pouch harm if I have one after eating? Since it's sort of a liquid, does it fall into the category of drinking after eating? I am supposed to wait 30 min after food. -

CALLING ALL JULY 2016 SLEEVERS
Bee healthy replied to Tresa Embil's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My surgery was July 5 and I just passed the 30 pound weight loss Mark. Working towards 35. Now that I can eat regular food, I am feeling the restriction again. Not complaining, just mains sure I get my protein and water in. I had lettuce and tomatoes with steak...that I chewed really well. It was so fantastic. I have been craving salad! Everything settled great! -

how long does the process take?
Bee healthy replied to mariah100707's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I think all insurance requirements are different and you have to consider the doctors schedule too. My insurance required 6 mths of nutritional counsel. I started Dec 2016 and had my surgery July 6. During that time, I did all the tests, evals etc. it went very fast and I am so glad I had the nutritional counsel. It has helped! Good luck to you!!! Best decision I ever made -
Any advice with fat/carb targets? Using Lose it app for tracking
Bee healthy posted a topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I am tracking in the lose it app and want to set goals for Protein, Fat, Carbs. Yesterday I had my 6 week meeting with my NUT. She gave me protein goals and said lower fat and slightly higher carbs. My calories should now increase to 900-1000 and my protein between 70-80 Is anyone else tracking fats and carbs? I am not sure what to put as a goal for fat/carbs in the app. I was approved for all foods but in my previous life I was a low carb girl. I am finding the thought of increasing carb levels ( good carbs) scary. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
