Bloody Maria's (tequila) are my thing but have tried wine and cidre too. I waited 6 weeks for the tequila and 8 months for the cider but I don't have problems with carbonation at all

Mine started at 2 months and quit at 9. Fortunately I have enough hair for 2 people so it wasn't traumatic for me but it was unsettling to see so much hair in the drain after a shower. Only took regular bariatric supplements. My dr said nothing would keep it from happening. My eyelashes were already very thin (I'm 61 and that's normal) but I started using latisse which is rogaine for eyes. Works beautifully.

Not Tracking your food is a big mistake!
Minimel replied to erica_ozzy73's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
MyFitnessPal lets you add your own recipes with portion sizes so you can quickly add your meals to the tracker. It seems a little delusional to me to think any of us got to the point that we needed wls by overeating and will miraculously not need to track afterward. I'm afraid you're setting yourself up for failure if you don't. -
I miss carbonated drinks
Minimel replied to sandrafer33's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm 1 year out and can drink as much carbonation as I want. We're all different. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -
WAS TOTALLY AGAINST PLASTIC SURGERY UNTIL I WOKE UP....
Minimel replied to Womanvsmirror's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Mine just keep getting longer but I think I'll just keep slinging them up with a bra. My arm wings on the other hand have got to go. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -
Conflicted feelings about losing weight and sudden change in how others treat me
Minimel replied to Heather I's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I agree our attitudes have a lot to do with it but I can't help be a little pissed off when someone says "now you can date again". I must have been horribly undeserving when I was fatter. But...it is an ego booster when the vet walks into your cat's appointment and says "wow, you're pretty- I mean that's a pretty sweater" Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -

ADD and struggles with weight loss...
Minimel replied to ginabee38's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I do have ADD. Weighed 200 when I was diagnosed and started meds. Weighed 250ish when I had to quit meds because of blood pressure. I think it probably contributes to poor impulse control but I can't point to anything else specific that it effects. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -
6 months out I started eating those smartpop 100 calorie bags. Perfect size and VERY satisfying. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Well, I'm a grazer and not all that concerned about it. I build my grazing habits into my fitness pal daily plan so that I stay within my limits. I'm officially down 60 pds today since 2/29/16 and am very happy with my progress towards my 100 pds goal. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Surgeon says I should only focus on losing 50-70% of excess weight -Boo!
Minimel replied to Omieliz's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
@@careya123 We could be twins. My goal is to shop in normal size stores and departments which I reached a month ago (within 6 months post surgery). I'm only at 60% of my EBW and people are asking if I really want to lose 40 pds more. I know I do but I'm not panicked about this stall. Yet... Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -

I got a food saver and I love it. It's impossible to cook our sized meals so now I make an entire roast or pork tenderloin and divvy it into small portions and vacuum seal them for the freezer. They keep forever and I have lots of variety cuz I don't have to eat what I cook for a whole week now. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

I was sleeved on 2/29, down 57 pounds, went from a size 24 to a 16, and hit a wall 4 weeks ago. I track on MyFitnessPal and am maxing calories at 1200 a day targeting 2 pounds a week. I make sure I get 60 grams of Protein, have 2 servings of fruit and 1 of go lean Cereal everyday. My stall finally broke this weekend when I got frustrated and had a piece of pizza and one of those little Ben and Jerry's americone dreams. Lost 2 pounds. Who knows. Plant Based Diet After Bariatric Surgery
Minimel replied to BrittneyMarie's topic in Food and Nutrition
All the other bariatric surgeons tell us to eat between 60 - 80 grams but I found his book pretty compelling for a lower Protein diet. Not sure I can do the vegan thing, though so I haven't actually tried it yet. The book didn't have a very extensive diet plan. Did they give you much in the way of guidelines? Plant Based Diet After Bariatric Surgery

What happens if you don't get enough protein?
Minimel replied to IveGotThePower's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Yeah, I'm starting to question the enormous Protein requirements we've been given . There's a bariatric surgeon in Texas that has his patients on 30 grams of plant protein and they're having the same results as the high protein diets. The world health organization says we only need 31 grams to maintain muscle so I'm wondering what the extra 40 - 50 grams is used for. I'm Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -
Was dying for a coffee cake muffin so I gave in after 4 months. Was lucky I didn't throw up. But tequila after just 3 months was fine and dandy. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Dr. Garth Davis - post WLS meal plan/nutrition?
Minimel replied to ForLfKlovr's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
So I guess I was right that no one on this forum was a patient and I bought his new book. Unfortunately, the eating plan is vegan even though his blog says you don't have to be to follow his advice. Not super helpful. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
