    Calorie guidelines ?

I was thinking about this today. I get my Protein in, and fluids, but when I account for my walking I usually get under 200 calories. I am still early pre-op, I assume as I can eat a little more in it will even out. I am following surgeons plan, so I assume they realize how little calories that ends up. Although sure explains being so tired all the time. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using Tapatalk
  2. So I have to order a scrubs on Monday for nursing school training that will take place June 20th - July 18th. I had surgery 3/28 and started out 24/2xl size. Any ideas to guestimate my clothing size 3 months post op? I lost 12 Pounds the first week, but that doesn't mean I will lose any certain amount in the following weeks. I would rather guess a little big than too small but since I will be wearing it months 3 through 4, I can't guess too big. They don't have to be perfectly fitted, but I can't have them hanging off either, KWIM? I asked if I could order them closer to the date, nope vendor requires this long to get all the stupid logo stuff. I could pay to get scrubs and have embroidery done at scrub shop but it's not cheap and I already paid for them when I had to pay for training. Ugh, how out of luck am I going to be? 5. I put on a spanks top when I was having muscle pain that hurt to walk. It felt like it provided a little support. I went slow, held my stomach to lessen stretching/pulling feeling. In fact I often still wear my spanks if I am gonna be walking fast or biking and I want to feel a little support. You gotta do a little, even it's in just laps around your house. 6. Incase it will help, I am 5'4", currently 244, 24s are a little baggy, 22's a little snug. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using Tapatalk

I made a mushroom beef broth that was darn tasty (dried mushrooms soaked in hot beef broth and left for a few hours. Remove mushrooms) Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using Tapatalk

    I thought they were trolls

Well first off, yikes. I did not expect someone to imply that I am so stupid I should die. Maybe I have misunderstood. At any rate, Valentina: I like you. I think we're both perhaps sensitive to an extent that other people don't always appreciate a good quality. I've always had very high empathy for others. I appreciate you stepping in when people seem to be attacking me. For the record I had full sodium chicken broth, AFTER talking with my Dr about how I'm routinely exceeding my Water goals. But I shouldn't have to defend myself to others. Especially not when I made my original post with the thought that maybe somebody else could relate and share their experience/struggles as well. Human connection. Relating to one another. We all need this. Instead I feel that I've been condemned by strangers who were quick to judge me based on little information. I hold no grudge, but I certainly feel less than welcome here. Edit: Misspelled Valentina. Whoops 0_0 Marie, that's crazy that full sodium broth caused a weight gain. I didn't realize our new bodies were so sensitive to sodium changes, especially when we so much of our early diets is liquid. You would think just the pure amount of liquid going in would cause your kidneys to kick out excess water. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using Tapatalk

    Any Colorado sleevers?

Would anyone be interested in a private Colorado sleevers group. Only I wanna don't call it anything about WLS.. something totally odd like chicken salad isn't really salad? Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using Tapatalk
  10. They warned me a lot that the first few weeks diarrhea is normal. "liquid in, liquid out". I failed to expect it to be so literal as they spent a week pumping me full of colace, milk of magnesia, magnesium citrate. Sweet heavens. Someone please tell me this phase ends soon. They said we could take an immodium but that usually causes me constipation. And with no functioning ab muscles I would hate to think of being constipated but not sure I can endure anymore of this either. I feel like I need 6 showers a day. Oddly all attacks have come after having dreams of eating really sugary stuff. My body may be sending warning signs. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using Tapatalk

    I thought they were trolls

Valentina, It wasn't support group, it was a post op nutritional class, I didn't give any of identifying information. I promise I wasn't trying to violate any sense of trust. While I understand that people might not like to have their personal food sharing talked about by others, he seemed rather proud of his eating, so I don't think he would be upset to share it. Granted no one would like if it was shared with a negative note, my original intent of this post was to say, that often times we read posts on here and claim troll. While it maybe troll, it may just be someone who follows their own versions of the rules.

    I thought they were trolls

My only theory was he must just be eating a bite at a time all day long to get it all in. And have a sleeve of steel. I can't imagine my sleeve is a diva, she gets mad if I sip my broth too fast. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using Tapatalk

Sorry for the suspense. He eats 3 raw eggs a day, a full can of clam chowder, 2 cans of potted meat, whole Beans and salsa. Some other stuff, both large portions, solids, spicy stuff. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using Tapatalk

    7- day post op

I have Clear liquids for 10 days post op except I could do 1 regular Protein shake. Although I tried one on day 3, 5, 7. It wasn't until day 7 that I could handle them, the first two tries were just painful, one sip and dump. Thursday (11 days post op starts full liquids and some pre-selected foods (1oz yogurt, cottage cheese, pudding, or watery refried Beans - all with added protein powder). 18. Today finally turned the corner. I was able to do a decent long walk, even clean up a little. Still some healing needed but today I felt like I was moving forward not back. YAY!!!! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using Tapatalk
  19. I feel like my recovery is going backwards. I have called the on call about things all of which "nothing majorly concerning". But I feel like I am less tolerant to fluids, having more incision pain, my bruises are growing, I sleep all day, a 15 minute walk today was harder than the 15 minutes I did right after I got out of pacu. Ugh. I don't regret my surgery, and I trust my surgeon and his team but yesterday and today were so much harder than post-1&2. But tomorrow is a new day. I will put on my big kid pants one more time, I will cross my fingers that my stomach will accept Proteins with out the stabbing pains again (another new fun), I will get in a decent walk, and I will have the energy to catch up on homework before I fail my classes. Good luck fellow sleevers, and those of you with smooth recoveries, know I am truly jealous. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using Tapatalk
  20. I am lactose intolerant and bought lactose free whey Protein isolates. Although currently I am surviving on isopures to make sure I got my Clear liquids and Proteins in one hit. I finally caved last night and took an immodium so far hasn't made much of an impact, I may take another later. I am hoping once I get past this phase the gas will go down to. Seriously the gas pain is causing me more pain and slowing down my walking more than the surgery itself. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using Tapatalk
  21. I am getting in 80 ounces of fluids so I don't feel dehydrated. My doctor said I COULD take immodium if I wanted, just make sure I was getting at least 64 ounces of clear fluids. I would deal with the possibility of constipation if it would also get rid of the digestion gas. I have no idea how I can be getting gas, nothing stays in there long enough to make cause I take gas x with every dose of Protein. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using Tapatalk

    MARCH SLEEVERS?

At what point does stop spazzing out when you drink. Doesn't matter the kind of drink, the temp, or how slowly my sleeve spasms and goes crazy everytime. Sometimes it's painful, most of the time it's just uncomfortable. When does your sleeve chill out? Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using Tapatalk
  24. Nurse practitioner said the pulling sensation is likely just from the incision and the swelling is just part of healing. Said I am likely pushing it too hard, slow down, rest, keep an eye on it if anything seems to be getting worse. But we looked at my before surgery belly pics and I had a bulge above my belly button, it just looks more obvision after incision pulled surrounding skin tight. I go back Wednesday to meet with her and surgeon for 1 week check up. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using Tapatalk
  25. I will call in the office in the morning. The swelling has gone down except large patch above belly button. It's still sensitive, a pulling pain. Oddly if I hold it tight I seem to be fine to walk. I have had pretty bad split abs since my first pregnancy, so I am wondering if it has something to do with that. Oh well,I will see them tomorrow, hopefully it's nothing. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using Tapatalk
