    Incision site problem

So far looks good. Had 3 week post-op appointment Wednesay, they said incisions look great. The one that was a little funky has closed back up, and looks fantastic. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using Tapatalk
  2. So my ring now falls off, I don't see any point in getting it resized just yet as I have just begun my journey but any ideas on adjustable band things. I have seen some clips but they don't seem like you can keep tightening them. My current ring size is an 11, my pre-fat days I wore a 7, so I suspect I will need something very adjustable.
  3. Some clothes are lose and even got some pants in smaller sizes out. But would still like the scale to move... oh well someday it will. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using Tapatalk
  4. I know it can be tempting. I cook everything for my family as well. But I know if I want to succeed I have to stop old habits. It helps that I have a diva sleeve, so I don't dare try many foods. I keep my green tea near me while I cook, so of I am tempting to try a bite I can sip. I sit with my family for a little bit while they eat and I eat my puree, but then excuse myself and do dishes. If there are foods your going to be tempted by more than others, try finding foods you can make that won't tempt you. You don't have to feed everyone pureed Beans, but it would be better for your long term success to find meals that will fit your new lifestyle. Also if it helps think of your eating less as a diet, and more as post surgery care. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using Tapatalk

Despite my scale going up by three pounds this week, today my regular pants wouldn't stay up. I put on jeans that were too small when I bought them three years ago. From a 26w presurgery to 22 (with a small waist) a little over 2 weeks post op. Embrassing the stall. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using Tapatalk

    Incision site problem

Healing wounds generally itch. Your body releases histamine when it's healing which makes it itch. But this one itches WAY more than the others, which may or may not be a sign. It's the itching constantly that made me notice the puss though. It looks about the same red and still a little funky, but not gotten any worse. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using Tapatalk

    3 yrs post op..

According to my NUT animal based Proteins have about 10g of Protein per ounce, veggie based proteins have 5g of protein per ounce. If your eating for 4oz of animal based protein for 6 meals you are getting more like 240g of protein. I am no NUT but I would say cut your protein down to 3 ounces and add some low carb veggies. Maybe cut one of two of your meals into Snacks, making them a small protein and some veggies (2 ounces of hummus and some snap peas, or cheese stick and some califlower). Mix up your diet might help. I think 1000 calories for 30 minutes workout sounds fine. That's pretty normal. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using Tapatalk
  8. My team says only clear fluids count (but you can count Protein Jello and Isopure clears) toward both. I get my fluids in, but its a struggle. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using Tapatalk

    I've gained 3 lbs!

I have an app on my phone that reminds me with a little noise or vibration every fifteen minutes to drink. It also helps you track Fluid. It's called Water drink reminder. There are probably dozens of similar ones. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using Tapatalk
  10. Amazing results! Keep up the great work. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using Tapatalk
  11. I have been stalled for ten days too. I don't weigh everyday, but it's not moving. I did weigh myself the other day and it was up three pounds, but I think it was a night time way because my the morning it was normal again and has stayed at that same 246.5. Getting enough fluids, protein, exercising. It's a head game for sure. I just keep repeating to myself, 500 high protein calories in, 400 burned through at the gym...fat has to be coming off somewhere even if the scale doesn't agree. I called. They are calling in a antibiotic that is used for skin infections, and go in wednesday unless it gets worse then call back. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using Tapatalk
  13. Mine has been much crappy. 1 week post op- 258 to 246.5 2 weeks post 249.5 (that's right a three pound gain despite eating exactly on plan, averaging 400 calories and doing 40 minutes to an hour of walking or biking 6 days a week). We shall see what week three says. My NUT and surgeon warned there is big stall that happens happens around week three, and another around week 7, week 12, and every few months. Edited to say I know... Embrassing the stall Everyone loses at different paces Trust the program Don't be a slave to the scale Inches gone, doesn't mean pounds gone Check your fluids, check your Protein...

    Any bike riders out there?

I have a cruiser which are made with wider seats, but I also got a wider seat for my mountain bike. I got it at Target, pretty cheap. But the first few weeks on any seat will cause tenderness. I eventually goes away. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using Tapatalk

    Compression garment

I wore Spanx tank top, on and of the first two weeks. Really helped with the pulling sensation on my abs. I am three weeks now and don't use it anymore. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using Tapatalk
  17. I think alcohol is three months out as well. Although mine recommend longer only so people don't transfer their food issues to alcohol issues, and the empty calories. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using Tapatalk
  18. My NUT says 3 months, caffeine is really irritating to your stomach at first. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using Tapatalk
  19. 8am Protein drink, 10am-1oz hummus, 12pm-Protein Drink and Vitamins, 2pm- 1oz ricotta or cottage cheese, 5pm-protein drink ...depending sometimes a 8pm - 1oz Greek yogurt Lots of caffeine free green tea and Water in there. I shoot for 84 ounces of clear fluids Had surgery on the 28th. I get grams between about 90 grams of protein a day. My calories are usually under 500 and I my average workout burns about 500 calories. I am hoping when I move to the next food phase it will mean a little more calories so I am not so tired all the time. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using Tapatalk

I should start measurements. I didn't. I thought I would be super cool and not worry about scale, or measurements, just trust and stick to the program. Then I remembered I am a type A and broke down and weighed myself yesterday. *Of course as soon as I saw increase and remembered why I didn't want to weigh myself to begin with. Depends on your surgeon. On full fluids I got about 400. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using Tapatalk

    Fluids

My NUT and surgeon said there is no such thing as too much clear fluids. I was also told Protein shakes don't count toward your Water intake. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using Tapatalk

    Breath help

I google it, it said ketosis, but didn't say anything about going away. Okay, altoids, Water and patience. Check. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using Tapatalk
  24. All the warnings I read about life after surgery nothing warned that your breath and pee would smell like death. I have been brushing my teeth, swirling mouth wash, flossing.... still death breath. Any ideas? Bad breath is sooooo embarrassing for me.
  25. When ever I would read crazy posts about what people were eating right after surgery I thought it must be trolls. Surely their surgeon would send them with some specific diet instructions. Today at my 1 week post op nutrition class, one guy (who had the same surgeon as me so I know he got a million handouts and talks about what and when to eat) told everyone what he had been eating (keep in mind should have been Clear liquids only), the NUT's jaw dropped. In fact she went and called the surgeon to come over and meet him before class was out. They might be real people...with decent surgeons... mind blown. I am slow to move to full/semi liquid stage that I could have started a few days ago as my sleeve is still tempermental. Tomorrow I will start 1/2 ounce of Greek yogurt... maybe.
